Hey everyone. I want to share with you guys my current RX7 build from day 1.
Enjoy! Purchased off an old friend for roughly $600. It was his first car and wanted to hold on to it but after parking it for 7 years, he finally decided to let her go to a good home. Attachment 751385 Attachment 751386 Attachment 751387 Attachment 751388 Junk Yard donor car for some exterior parts. I wanted to do an SA bumper conversion. Attachment 751389 Attachment 751390 |

I purchased an authentic Kamei front air dam...
Attachment 751367 ...as well as an authentic Mariah Motorsports wing. Attachment 751368 The next step was to strip the interior in preparation for paint. Attachment 751369 Attachment 751370 I continued to gather parts prior to sending her off to the body shop. Attachment 751371 Attachment 751372 Attachment 751373 Off to the body shop! And then the Mariah Wing was bolted up.

Attachment 751338 Attachment 751339 She'll stay here until I can continue the project. Attachment 751340 Attachment 751341 By far, my favorite detail is the fender-mounted Talbot mirrors. I wanted something subtle and I think it's a great look for the car. Attachment 751342 More to come soon! |

That looks great. I really like the mirrors, and wow you can paint. Red with a black interior is nice.
Thanks! |
You might want to host your images on a site other than photobucket. We can't see them unless you pay the ransom.

I'll fix it, thanks for the heads up! |
Images fixed.

body looks great. what's the plan for the drivetrain?
|
came out nice
|
that's my car , almost. Mine is all oem minus a few space wasting things. Only thing I don't like about my car is the a/c cannot keep up with the sun beating down on all that rear hatch back glass.
Should I spring for a new compressor? |
Thanks guys.
My plan for the drivetrain is to swap in a low-compression 13b with a single turbo. My power goals aren't ridiculous, I'd like to be somewhere in the 350-400 whp with somewhere around 15 lbs of boost. I've been reading a lot of good reviews about rotaryengine.com. Does anyone have first-hand experience with them? |

The project continues!
I finally moved the car over to my house so I can work on it more frequently: Attachment 747550 Attachment 747551 Attachment 747552 First up are T3 Coilovers. I went with Swift springs with 275lbs up front and 150lbs in the rear. Attachment 747553 Attachment 747554 Attachment 747555 I also picked up the top mounts from T3 to go with the coilovers. Attachment 747556 New tie rod ends Attachment 747557 I also swapped over to a full GSL-SE suspension. Up front are brand new rotors/hubs, bearings, pads, and stainless steel lines. Under the hood, I have a new Koyorad radiator, Racingbeat hoses, new brake/clutch master cylinders, and a few odd and ends from Atkins Rotary.
Attachment 747545 Attachment 747546 Attachment 747547 Out back, I took out the old gas tank because it was in rough shape and installed an ATL fuel cell. It fit like a glove. Attachment 747548 Attachment 747549 |
The car is looking great and you are doing some very tasteful mods to the car! Well done sir!

Thank you very much!

Got a few more updates:
The fuel cell is all plumbed and functioning perfectly well. I'll need to add some grommets or sleeves to protect the lines from chaffing. I also installed new rear struts for the lift gate. I had to get creative with how to mount one of the struts haha. Next up was the GSL-SE rear end. It's been dressed up with new pads, rotors, and a T3 rear coilover kit. Enjoy! Had to make a little bit of room for the rear coilover to clear the factory exhaust heat shield but it looks good now:

that is pretty badass my friend
|
How do you like the T3 lower control arms, fitment wise? Ive had my eyes on them for a little bit.
