1984 GSL-SE, Happy Birthday Make up!

I have always been a rotary fan and this year I picked up my 6th Rx-7. Its a 1984 GSL-SE and I bought it from the original owner. I had been saving some hard earned money for a few years to do some kind of project so I figure I will give this beauty a well deserved makeover to its original glory. The car is in excellent shape as you can see from the pictures. It has 148xxx original miles and everything on the car works flawlessly. The engine compartment hasn't been messed with and its all stock. I started ordering a few things here and there. the car is already being painted. Here are a few pictures:

The day I picked it up:

Had to make space in the garage quick and in a hurry:

Spraying the engine compartment:

Some goodies:

The engine still runs very strong so I won't be messing with that any time soon. I will concentrate in the rest of the mechanical details.

Very clean! Great purchase. Same amount of miles I have on my 85 SE. Also original engine.

That looks like the PR Extreme muffler. Why did you get that if the rest of the system is a small 2" collected header/2" presilencer? Do you have big plans?

Sometimes you work on them, other times you just have to enjoy them! I took it out for a ride and enjoyed every minute!

Beautiful SE! What color is that? Also, any shots of the engine bay?

They are Firestone P 205/60 R14 (Not VR14) Sorry if that confused you.

A little update:

I recently had the header installed and eliminated the catalitic, now it sounds like it should with the RB pipe! I also repalced the oild pan with a new one and also changed the engine to oil cooler hoses. I also added 4 new tires and a control arm, aligned and now it runs really smooth. It's a long term project but its coming along nicely!

That is a beautiful survivor in it's original state. I'm down with the bolt on exhaust and cat delete as well as the removal of the air pump. Consider keeping it as original as you can, looks great!

Beautiful. Mind me asking what the paint job and body work cost? I have a paint job in my future so I'm curious.
