don't have alot of pictures yet...but i'm starting out with a bone stock 100% original 1981 RX7. i'm in the process of stripping alot of the front end as i'm going to have the front end powder coated a dark metallic blue....then because my ovens not big enough i'll have to find someone to match the color to paint the rest lol.

here's a shot of the interior..just a good plain starting point lol

plans are to clean up the engine bay by removing alot of un-need parts, exhaust, might keep the stock carb (only stripped down) and port match the intake manifold or just take the plunge and drop some webers on there.... then throw some strut bracing, coil overs, new gears and a few other things.

here she is...it's complete and does still drive...but she's in need of some serious TLC...and just incase anyone wonders, yes, i do have the nose peice and both headlights. i just finished powder coating one headlight assembly and now i'm onto the nose section.

and speaking of the headlights, this is what i started with

I don't know why the clock sticks out so much, but I'm in love with that clock by the shifter. :D

that clock is nice...no other way to tell time in that car lol... got a little busy on the 7 today and did up some hydrographics so i was able to finish off a complete headlight unit.

finally got a chance to get back on the 7 today. got the front bumper off and the drivers side fender...it's not as bad as i originally thought it was going to be...but we shall start off with the good stuff first....as mentioned before, the mazda logo was being done in the carbon fiber as well so here it is
Attachment 664155

i'm almost done the nose section where that logo mounts just ran out of sand today lol. but i should have it done and mounted again by the weekend....

now the bad
Attachment 664156
like i said, it wasn't as bad as i was expecting, but i do need to re-do the bottom front of the fender and right behind where the front wheel is. luckly for me, those are the only two bad spots on the fender...the rest of the fender had some kind of wax type of crap that has kept the rest from rusting out..so guess i'll be spending some quality time at a local buddies body shop to fix some issues lol

not going to bore everyone again with another picture of the headlights...how ever there will be one more posted lol...but i took apart the pop up unit for the headlights and the bushings on the long rod were worn out, i see on blackdragonauto.com they sell the long and short rods for a good portion of a persons paycheck...i'm wondering if there's anywhere out there that would be less then $50 for one of those rods or just where i could get the bushings alone?

since i had the motors for the headlights out for powder coating figured now would be a good time to start prepping the engine bay...here's a good shot before i took the shop vac to it

and after
Attachment 663857

it's going to be getting sandblasted here this week and a color matched paint to match the powder coat i'm using. i'm doing the engine bay in the blue accented with the flat black seen on the coil holders. I wish i could strip the entire engine bay to bare bones and work from there but at the point in time i don't have the space to take up with a stripped car lol

Good luck! I like the work you did on the headlight, looks good. :)

wow...it's been a while since i got anything done...i did have the old girl started and drove the other week...so were still good on that one lol... but i did get a little more done. currently working on the nose section.
Attachment 640909 here it is all sand blasted down and all the rust removed....the part was in surprisingly good condition.

Attachment 640910 here it is sitting at a good 375*f as i just opened the oven doors. nice coat of powder primer ready to be sanded and have the color coat and clear coat applied here shortly.
