RX7 Series 6 Single Turbo project
Whats up guys thought I would start a thread on my build.
Bought the car from a guy here in SA that hadn't looked after the car and basically sat in the sun for a year, so needs a lot of attention.
Body work is not great, paint job is faded and uneven, interior pieces are sun damaged and falling apart.
So far have pulled motor and have done 2mm RA super seals with a half bridge port.
Running a Greddy Trust FMIC
Copper radiator
Battery relocation
stock fuel system for now
Master Power T61 turbo with custom manifold
76mm 304 grand downpipe and decat, 5zigen back box
HKS SSQ black edition Blow off valve
40mm single wastegate with screamer pipe
Spitronics fuel management system
HKS semi adjustable suspension
RE Amemiya Short shifter
Running the car at 0.3 bar boost and made 216.3rwkw and 316nm
Got a modified primary rail that I am putting the 850cc secondary's in and a DM motorsport secondary rail with bosch 1000cc's this coming week.
Will get it tuned after that on 0.3 maybe 0.4 bar boost and see the results.
Also putting in Super Pro bushes as my rear bushes are nearly completely worn.
Paint job will be done in the next 2 months, going Frozen White, engine bay will be painted candy purple or pink.
Going to sandblast and polish all engine parts, as well as boost pipes and intakes etc.
Going to be stripping the suspension and sandblasting it and painting in high heat paint.
Interior plastics will be wrapped in carbon fiber vinyl.
Dash is going to be pulled, cleaned and refurbished with vinyl spary.
Putting in EVO bucket seat, black with red stitching.
Have put in new dials.
The car came with 4 Apexi gauges mounted in the dash on the passenger side, going to make a carbon fiber mounting plate and remount them.
Going to put in black with red stitch leather garther for handbrake and gear shift.
Custom sound system will be going in as well.
and many more things to come.
Will post pics soon...

Hats up guys, so car died on me and thought the fuel pump had given up, bought a new aftermarket intank pump, tried to start it and same thing.
So I double checked the other pump and the pump was actually fine.
So fiddled with the harness wiring by the fuel injectors and car started, switched off and tried to start it up again and nothing, all it does is turn but doesn't catch and turn over.
Could it be the wiring to the injectors or is my harness got a short somewhere else?

So been a long time since I posted, car has now gone to a proper rotary tuner and have found that the engine is damaged beyond repair, so new engine on its way from Japan.
Going to keep the engine stock for now and put all existing parts back on.
Paint job is done and new front bumper installed, need new wheels now but going to get spacers made and respray black until I find wheels I like.
New engine
New lightened pulleys
New Rotary Tech ECU with wiring harness
T61 turbo with custom mani
Exhaust will stay the same as 76mm all the way through with the 5Zigen back box.
HKS suspension is busy being cleaned and reseated
New seats are in
Intercooler going in to get powder coated and polished on the sides
Oil coolers getting sprayed blue
UIM and LIM getting powder coated black and TB getting polished
Greddy DV is going back on as the "HKS" was a fake
Sound install still to be done
Restoring the interior at the moment with sanding plastic and respraying also going to wrap some on the plastics in Carbon fibre.
New boost pipes getting made
Engine bay will be cleaned and repainted
Rewiring most of the car because of ground and shorting issues
and lot more to be done
Need to make a list of everything so I can get stuff done.
At the moment I am a bit over whelmed with everything that's needs to be done so not finishing anything.

Ok so been a while since I last posted.
Had so much **** with my local tuner, imported engine blew after the first drive and the tuner shop refuses to take responsibility so Im around $3600 out of pocket.
That will be the last time I get someone else to work on my car.
From now it will be DIY, starting this weekend with stripping the entire car and starting over.
Going for the interior first, then pull the engine and send off for rebuild with one of my mates, balance and lighten rotors, super seals and some aggressive street porting, I will be there when the guy does all the work on the motor so that I can see that all parts are correct and have be placed into the motor as my previous motor had the wrong water seals, oil seals and apex seals installed. Cant believe people are so shady here in SA.
Will post a wake of pics on Monday with the progress. Going to try and document everything as I go in as much detail as possible.

Did some work finally as the car is going in next weekend for engine pull and rebuild
Doing 5 dowel
Aggressive street port
Lighten and balance both rotors
Super seals replace all bearings
This is what I managed to do this weekend, cleaned and put sound deadening down.
Bigger job than I thought it would be, the cleaning part took ages, laying down the sound deadening took around 3-4hrs.

Im from Johannesburg, there are a few Rotor Shops now, but most of them are unreliable and don't do good work, there are really good ones and trust worthy people that run them so we sorted for rebuilds and tuning which is awesome but doing most of the work myself as I have been burnt twice now by **** workmanship and none willingness to sort out the problems they created.

Did some rewiring this weekend and install the carpet back in, the guys who did my wiring last did a hack job so had to start from scratch but managed to fin a lot of the problem I was having with gauges and lighting issues due to grounding issues, once the engine is out will get cracking with the prep work for the wiring to the engine bay and hopefully solve a lot of issues I had. Finally got my hands on a cluster gauge hood and some new side vents. also picked up a engine dampener which I have always wanted" don't know why but hey"
Rewarded my gauge cluster again as was not happy with my previous job, will do the cluster hood tonight and hopefully be able to assemble the dash this week or weekend before the car goes in for engine rebuild.
