Question Rx7 FD 93 Build thoughts

So i am in the process of building/looking to buy a new...
OTS Pettit engine
HKS T04Z Turbo kit, along with the needed inter cooler kit
Also a Haltech 1000 or 1500 ECU
255 walbro fuel pump

My question for anyone to answer will this be a good set up? i am looking to get in the 450-600HP range.
I have all the funds needed just wanted to hear some feed back before i start spending money

To4z is an outdated turbo. Get something recent. Get a newer generation ECU (elite vs PS). You also need a full fuel system upgrade (not just the pump), upgraded radiator, etc...

I'm a fan of Borg Warner EFR series, but if you don't have the budget, there is the SXE series.

There are other options for good turbos as well. Just search the single turbo section or call a shop like banzai or IRP for advise. They sell kits but will answer questions without pushing product.

HKS T04Z Turbo kit has been discontinued for a few years
Also a Haltech 1000 or 1500 ECU has been discontinued for about a year, replaced by Elite series
255 walbro fuel pump is ok for 450, but not 500-600hp. There are now much higher flowing Walbro pumps up to 470lph

There is a big difference between 450 & 600hp, they are virtually 2 different build. If you want to build a 600rwhp car you are looking at upgrading almost every component in the cooling, fuel, ignition, drivetrain, etc. A 450rwhp can be built with far less upgrades.

What mods and mileage does the car currently have? I see bay area, does that mean you need to pass emissions?

We've got several turbo systems to choose from, just need to as mentioned narrow down your HP goals;

mileage is at 125K. Coilovers, Apexi ecu, all block off plates, air pump delete, battery relocated to trunk, big throttle body, FMIC, 99spec turbos, aluminum AST, Koyo radiator, greddy intakes.
But i am going for awhole new set up. New engine and single turbo, thinking of injectors but dont know what to get. I do want to get a whole new fuel set up. Havnt gathered all the info yet.
Its a off road car.

This is the best fuel system on the market;

Pump gas or E85 makes the biggest difference in injector choices.

Maybe add a Full Function 36 tooth trigger wheel and water injection.

4X ID1750X is what we use on the stock LIM. Otherwise we go with ID1350X primaries, and 4X ID1750X on the excessive LIM( 6 injector combo, for those going higher in power levels).

What would be "higher hp levels". I am thinking of going with the EFR 9174 for "500-625HP turbo kit.

The most we have seen on the 9174 is 600rwhp FYI, an easier goal would be 550rwhp to be honest. Thats plenty fast for a street driven FD in my experience.

Above the 530rwhp mark on E85 is where we move to the 6 injectors. Keep in mind you will need twin 460lph pumps for above 430-450rwhp range on E85.

I think you might be best going to a reputable business and plan out your goals and then you can figure out the path to get there, otherwise you will be on a painful and expensive path.
