I've seen more expensive projects. My goal is not to have the fastest but to have the nicest. But still be 100% functional. I don't want to look back after it's done and be like, I should of done this or that. But it's been a collection of RX-7 parts for 10 years of my life into this project and yes it was quiet above my buget but you only live once.

Also the car will still have A/C and power steering. Full 5 speaker Jl audio system, double din.

Wow. Quality of this build is something I haven't come across in a long time. Best of luck with your build. Hope everything will be smooth as butter!

Thanks man

jacobcartmill 12-29-14 12:02 AM

yes very nice.

i'm curious about the LINK ecu choice though. why did you go with that when there are options such as haltech, AEM, adaptronic, etc. ?
you're the first FD i've ever seen running a LINK ecu.

MazdaspeedR1 12-29-14 06:03 PM

My friend AKA builder of the car AKA Speed 1 mechanic talked me into it. It was the best system for the money at the time. And its Quality equipment. Supposed to be easy to use with lots of support. with a lot of inputs and outputs and features for the price. Also originally I was going to keep the oil metering pump but decided not to.

Broke_A_Baller 01-05-15 12:15 AM

Nice build!!!!

Why did you go soft to hard line for the turbo line?

Good luck with the build!

-Nick

MazdaspeedR1 01-05-15 08:27 AM

The hard line came with my turbo kit I'm pretty sure. Turblwn built it and speed 1 installed it. But I'm pretty sure it's becasue the hard line handles the heat better from turbine housing better then anything will pretty much.

BTW I appreciate the compliments, love critisism and questions.

I'm going to have to get back to you on that one. Sorry but not sure. Yordan from speed 1 did the tuck. I know that he was having a problem with that as well and saved it to the end to fix. But I believe is done now.

This thread is amazing... I cant imagine the amount of money that is being spent to have this work all done by a shop.

This project was started at KDR before they closed down and reopened as Speed 1. One of there employees traded me parts to do the wire tuck at his house so they would have a place to stash to car during the big move. So it would work out for the both of us I believe. I wouldn't be able to just drive to a shop and have this type of work done. This is also over 6 years of time. I purchased all the parts myself also. The parts are really where all the money goes to.
