My first build thread...

Ok so I'm starting this kinda late in starting this... But ill post up pictures in order when I get a chance.

This is when I first got it. I'm just cleaning it out. I have the unfortunate ability to see potential in this car... and alot of credit charges built up.

This is exactly what I plan on doing once I find enough money to get a fd shell. I wish you luck and I cant wait to see the final product

I like your user title is funny but its missing something...
Fast Car's, Fast Girls, Fast STDs

oo7arkman Feb 2, 2011 02:30 PM

Looks like you are off to a good start! As much fun as I am sure that is, I do not envy what is happening to your wallet at the moment.

Word of advice... Take your time and do not do anything half-assed just to get the car back together (or due to lack of funds at the moment). Make sure you use quality products and each modification is done with purpose and intent. If you do that and get a good ROTARY tuner, you and the car will have a good happy life together. If you cut corners, well, it may be a short happy life followed by much cursing and throwing of wrenches...

Good luck on the build!

Labor of love

OP,

My hat is off to you! That is a labor of love! Good luck on your build.

robertstadnick Feb 2, 2011 07:28 PM

You will never have enough money, I thought I did but there always something else you need to buy. My credit card company will be happy for the next month of interest...

Fast std's are ok its the slow ones you want to worry about...

As far as this car its my first one with such a big project and its going to be a track car so I'm taking my time and learning how to do it all in the process... As far as the motor I'll be installing a haltech ps1k, and ill be tuning myself... Once I have the money for that too

Its alot of fun when you have all the tools you need... thanks for the luck tho, ill need it when i paint... still not totally sure what im doing, but im learning fast.

So here is my tow bar mount... I'm workin on a pretty big budget which doesn't include a trailer... so this will have to do for now. I plan to weld on a mount that allows me to use the tow bar through the bumper but this will work for now untill i have time to weld it...

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/r...4/10a57f5c.jpg

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/r...4/2cc57d3d.jpg

So I spent about 4 hours spraying, all i got done this night was the body itself... I finished the inside, the engine bay and the exterior of it, only one coat to... this is going to take a while...

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/r...4/22d5148c.jpg

Now I'm working on some of the smaller parts...

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/r...4/3afb468b.jpg

Done with three coats now...

http://i487.photobucket.com/albums/r...4/dc47861a.jpg

I'll be putting it together again soon... can't wait to see what it looks like all together again...

Force13B Feb 4, 2011 05:29 PM

KKMpunkrock2011 Feb 5, 2011 05:04 PM

is that a flat black or a gloss black?

ALPSTA Feb 5, 2011 05:59 PM

As I'm scrolling down looking at the pics, I'm saying to myself, tell him to cover the antenna hole but then I realised it was too late, oh well, nice built nevertheless. Good job, keep it up.

rotary_rob Feb 5, 2011 06:55 PM

come do mine next lol good work and detail

robertstadnick Feb 6, 2011 10:28 AM

It's a semi gloss and it's left unsanded right now so it has a matt effect... In the dark it absorbes like and your pretty much can't see it... Which will be cool until someone hits me but we'll see...

And I left the wiper hole and the antenna hole there on perpose... I'm not that great with fiberglass work yet for one, and I'm just going to find a rubber plug to fill it... Or maybe find a way to use them... I dont know yet...

robertstadnick Feb 6, 2011 10:30 AM

I have it all done and put back together now... I'll be posting more pics up today hopefully of the car in some good light so you can judge my semi gloss matt paint...
