Just purchased 93 FD from Japan - Build coming soon
 

So I made a post on here last month and it didn't turn out so well. I was actively trying to buy an R32 GTR, but the prices were just too high. My eyes and heart have always been set on the RX7. I looked at the auctions for a few weeks and there it was like a diamond in the turds nest. So I hit up Carlos at RHD Specialties and we started the inspection and bid process.

The car is a 1993 with 72k miles and is in super clean condition. Under body pics make it seem like it was never driven in the winter. Car was originally red, but the red engine bay didn't deter me from the amazing paint job elsewhere that was confirmed during the inspection.

I didn't realize that car was rolling on some Regamaster superforged and the interior has some expensive recaro seats. Well that was a surprise... I got this car for $4k at auction and with all fees a total of $9k shipped to Germany. This car will be landing in the states in 2018 at 25 years old :).

I'm taking the leftover money from the purchase and buying a spare stock engine/trans/turbo setup for $2k. This is my first step of a build...

cool.... so...... whats up with this? landed in germany yet?

YES SIR,

This landed December 5th. The shipping company damaged the rear bumper, side skirt and front bumper. You can see from the pictures that everything was perfect the day of the auction. The insurances paid me out $2,100.00 for repairs.

With this money the damages will be fixed and wheels repaired/painted GTR gunmetal grey. I've already ordered coilovers and a smaller MOMO 320mm steering wheel cause even at 6'0 I have issues getting in and out of this rx7 with the 350mm Nardi.

As for the car it drives great and both turbos kick in nicely. There are a few concern points. My power steering rack is leaking, oil pan is leaking, oil sending unit is leaking, and possibly turbo oil leak.

Lol all normal issues with every fd. Welcome to hell. You might want to make sure its your rack leaking and not something else.

Instead of getting a smaller wheel, most taller people get a quick release so they can just remove the wheel when they get in and out. Costs less than a new wheel and adds a little bling to the interior.

what part of germany are you at? I'm located at Ramstein and just picked up sliver FD3S that was for sale in Wiesbaden

By the way, the shield on the picture that has a step on the edge (the one with 2 shields) is your low beam.
