mazdaverx713b 04-26-19 06:26 AM

Welcome!!! Looks like a great car!! Sounds like it has a ton of potential!

Turblown 04-26-19 02:19 PM

This is the gauge you will want to connect via can to your ecu;

https://turbosource.com/collections/...bus-gauge-52mm

I believe I already emailed you back about your base map.

Beach3um 04-28-19 04:55 PM

anyone recommend a good accurate boost gauge.

Ben Andrews 05-01-19 08:43 PM

As far as boost gauges go I have always had good success with analog autometer gauges in my 944 turbo. I also ran a Turbosmart electronic boost controller, which was a really nice EBC for the money

Parcham79 05-04-19 09:19 PM

I can second the autometer gauges, I don’t run a boost gauge from them but their coolant temp, oil temp, and oil pressure gauges have done me well.

Take it to IPR and have them go over the whole car. Since it's new to you, you don't know what you are dealing with and they should be able to assess what you've got

Or you could start troubleshooting the various multiple unknowns on your own

Just a suggestion

ZE Power MX6 05-08-19 09:46 AM

^ Agree. 1950rpm is pretty high, you should have IRP at least go over the basic to make sure everything is in good shape.

86ccord 05-08-19 11:05 AM

Nice car!

Looks great! It's amazing what a little but of elbow grease can do to an engine!

Beach3um 05-14-19 11:27 PM

Billy7 05-15-19 06:28 AM

Beautiful car!

Thomas Chen 05-16-19 08:06 PM

Nice find

ToxicMongoose 05-22-19 08:49 PM

I would also recommend taking it in to get a complete PPI.. post purchase inspection as it were. another set of experienced eyes just to make sure can save you $$ in the end. Looks much better with it cleaned up!

Idle

Just found vacuum leaks and got everyone of them fixed.now my idle is crap.once I get car hot and ajust idle to be perfect.ill drive for 10mins.and it's back to surging.so then I lower idle by idle screw.its perfect again. Drive some more maybe 5 mins.back to crap. After all vaccum leaks were fixed with new hoses we smoked it.no leaks so I know it's not that.any help? Anyone can help me get all screws th as t control idle back to spec? Idlecvalve is deleted.

Beach3um 09-18-19 07:22 PM

cars not road ready.having problems tuning it.its breaking up when hitting boost.tuner wants me to fix my problems first.i already tracked down 3 vacuum leaks by smoking intake.fixed them .re smoked no leaks.so now its ether ignition, timing,or fuel pressure dropping, bad plugs, crank angle sensor.it does start right up and drive. Sucks I'd love to go...if you have any ideas please help. We even turned all the failsafe off in ecu to see if it would rev past 4500 without popping at 8lbs of boost but still does it.once I get into boost.it pops.

Awesome looking car!

Beach3um 10-18-19 05:52 PM

Changed out my burnt out 450 walbro pump today.it still ran and worked.just would break up at hard throttle.
I also used the new irp 450 fuel pump bracket kit. Was super easy to install. While I was at it.i changed fuel filter and fuel lines that go from tank to metal fuel lines.and relocated fuel filter to a better spot. I included some pics.also wired pump right to battery with relay kit👍

hope this intro isn't turning into a build thread. i would advise starting one in the 3rd gen section. mighty fine job there at cleaning everything up under the hood.

Beach3um 04-16-21 08:06 PM

How can I move this to a build thread
