Arie V2.0: 8374 Track build
Time for my 2nd FD, some of you who follow my instagram will see that I managed to put my RE Amemiya AC037 car into a concrete wall at the race track. Long sweeping high speed corner, didnt have a wing on, lift oversteer = 100km into a wall. On inspecting the damage the passenger front rail is smashed up, first idea was to buy a roller and do a rail swap, after looking at what was available I found a roller with a unstarted built motor that looks to be a great base for a racecar so decided that the better route will be to buy that, swap all my go fast parts on then sell whats left over.
I will document the new build here and possibly on youtube if there is interest, the end goals are a competitive race car in circuit, time attack, touge, hill climb. I always love the wild aero on GT300 and time attack cars so will be going for a similar style. I have started disassembly on Arie V1.0, i have remove the fenders, front bar, radiator and intercooler. Intercooler looks like it will hold pressure but is not in good shape, the radiator is leaking and is also quite damaged. Fenders and bonnet are 95% ok, only minor repairs would be needed. Headlights would just need new lenses, foglights and front bar indicators are trash and front bar is also heavily damaged. I wont post pictures, its depressing. I have put a deposit on a roller that ill pick up in 2 weeks, the best part is it comes with a un-started built motor, v-mount intercooler system, air works turbo system and 3.5" exhaust. The engine builder is a local rotary legend who restored and built up Rod Millen's 4WD FC. The engine build details are Full cut CNC bridge port New rotors Exhaust port matched housings 7 piece stud kit / ARP nuts New apex seals, Corner seals, springs,Full -seal kit Race rotor bearings oil gallery modification / oil flow Balanced and clearanced rotating assembly High flowed and honed intake Water injection kit 120x600x500 VMount intercooler + aluminium radiator Ill be pairing this with the turbo setup off Arie V1.0 Turblown cast manifold Borg Warner 8374 1.05 EWG Twin Gen V Turbosmart 40mm wastegates 3.5" exhaust I will be reusing the following from Arie V1.0 Sakebomb Wilwood Forged Superlight calipers and 2pc disks (along with the rear Project MU disks and pads AEM gauges Link G4+ ECU (along with all the extra sensors) Super now Lower toe arms + Sway bar mounts PSM Upper and Lower arms T3 Upper toe arms Nardi Deep Corn + Works Bell Quick Release Racing Beat Front and Rear sway bars Racing Beat front sway brace Improved Racing Front and Rear sway links Surge tank, pumps, relays FFE Oil Pedestal IMR Oil catch can IMR coolant swirl pot And the various stuff i had not gotten around to fitting Solid diff bushings Cusco 1.5 way Super now outer tie rod JIC inner tie rods Rebuilt rack Racetech Seats / Harness Winchester Metal Works gated sump Outside of this there are a few things i do not yet have that i will need to acquire New Adjustable suspension New Aero (TBD - widebody) Weld in cage Big chassis mount wing |

Just looked up your instagram video. Very unfortunate; you barely got to enjoy the car and all the work you put in previously. It's one of those scenarios so many here have nightmares about. Obviously you being ok is the paramount concern but this is still shitty.
Good on you for bouncing back so fast and pursuing a new build. I wish you luck and look forward to seeing the progress. (and build videos at the level you're playing on are always fun to watch so I definitely support that decision) |
Time for a bit of a update, since the last post i have made a start, I unfortunately had quite a bad injury from the crash so have been in a lot of recovery, meaning progress has been slow.
1. Started stripping the Arie 1.0, so far have pulled down front end aero, front swaybar / mounts / braces, intercooler, radiator, engine wiring loom, gauges, link ecu, battery. 2. Removed the turbo setup from Arie 2.0 (to sell) 3. Ordered a widebody (any guesses? hint, its from Chiba) |

Here i am, happy as a pig in shit
Attachment 748779 Interior, when i pulled it out of the shed it was full of mouse poo and glass (rear window was smashed). After vacuuming it all out, its actually in great condition. There is no rust and non of the interior plastics are broken (including the map lid!) Attachment 748780 Some cool extras, coin pocket, aluminium pedal covers and the alloy jack! Man that thing is light Attachment 748781 Attachment 748782 Attachment 748783 The turbo kit i wont be using, nice manifold design, made by a NZ rotary guy Green Brothers Racing Attachment 748784 Rotaries without all the accessories are pure porn IMO Attachment 748785 Radiator ducts and piping Attachment 748786 Big ass intercooler Attachment 748787 Port matched intake runners Attachment 748788 Painted the ECU red, figured it would go faster Attachment 748789 Most of the wiring out, i likely wont run a audio in the new one, i used this one for max of 15min Attachment 748790 |

The first part of the widebody arrived, really nice fit so far and i am very happy with the look, still waiting for the fenders to clear customs
Attachment 748721 Attachment 748722 As you can see the previous RE Amemiya ones are also quite wide down the bottom. The new ones are much better made with better clearance and shaping on the mounting areas. Attachment 748723 Attachment 748724 Attachment 748725 |
Great to see you back on here and building another 7!
Glad you were not hurt and that you have the means to get started so soon on car #2. I assume that skirt is part of the RE Amemiya AD GT kit? |

I will keep the RE Amemiya AC037 front end storand will end up building another FD with it at some point, the fenders and bonnet are ok and i think the front can be repaired. Ill put that kit on a road car at some point. Good eye! You are right it is the AD GT2 kit, I was looking at a few other wide-bodies but in the end i decided a less aggressive flowing kit was the right choice. PS, I love your FEED FD! Really unique build :) |

The rest of the AD GT2 kit arrived, i threw the front guard on with the TE37s to get a idea of how it will all fit up. Also got a neat side indicator.
I have a few more RE parts ordered, await on delivery ETAs Attachment 748467 Attachment 748468 Attachment 748469 Attachment 748470 |
