Great work on parts selection! Some people get caught up in the turbo bling and big mechanical parts and miss the significance of things like a fully custom ludwig harness (which is fuckin-A-awesome).

Any thoughts on what you're going to do about the rear end?

Updates! The past two month have been super busy for me. From getting called for mandatory OT for work, to friends bachelor party, friends wedding, and then finally seven stock.

So as for the Shine RE-Amemiya style bumper, I ended trading with a buddy of mine for a FEED style bumper.

IT FITS!

Next I got tired of my leaky oil pan (which I resealed awhile back with permatex “wrong stuff”). I ended up buying a new pan and resealing with threebond.

After everything was removed, just to find out the oil pan brace was warped and the poly bushing on the mount was deformed. I ended up replacing both mounts and pan brace.

Also new FFE mounts. I’m selling the old set btw, will need replacement bushing.

Nice build thread, enjoyed reading it.

side question....what about your driveway issue? I’m guessing your dp to mp flange caught on the raised section, stressing the dp to turbo for it to crack? Will the new turbo setup with dp to mp have the same possible driveway issue?

Curious on the ecu install and tune when you get to that point, getting closer!

As of now, stock rear end, possibility of going Ford 8.8 rear end and Tremac TR6060. Still doing some research and read up.

So I found out, it was my motor mount setting. I had it on the lowest position (Bone headed mistake). It was the dp to my mp flange that caught the drive way that cause the damaged. :/

11/21 update: spent the evening checking clearance and orient the wastegate where it would clear the subframe and where the dump tube would not obstruct the downpipe.

Clearance of the water fitting and the subframe. 3/16 to 1/4” the picture doesn’t do justice due to bad angle and lighting

Hope everyone had nice thanksgiving and got some killer deals on Black Friday!

Some minor updates, the LIM is in, the fuel rail lines are going in, and the fpr is mounted up.

Before anyone freaks out, I did used -an wrenches lol

Skeese Nov 24, 2018 03:53 PM

I want a set of those wrenches, but they are high dollar if I remember right. I still just wrap the ends of a regular wrench with painters tape to protect the threads which has always worked out alright.

Brody -- amazing build so far! I live in the east bay and would LOVE to see the car once it's up and running! I'm finally getting started on re-awakening mine from sitting idle for 13 years. You're well ahead of me on your build, but I must say, I'm quite motivated by your progress!

Side note -- I'll be going to Seoul in January. Any recommendations?

Yes!! lol, sadly one of the SS PTFE fuel line started to leak. Luckily I have extra nylon braided earls line and fittings. Hopefully I get the leak resolved asap.

Gauge Pod Question

Slick build man, enjoyed reading your write up.

Curious what size your gauges are in the center speaker mount pod set up and what gauge pod you ended up using? Gauges look a little bigger (60 mm maybe?).

Cool project!
When you repacked the balljoints, how did you clean them out first?

They are 52mm STRi gauges. They are more red than amber. I dont exactly remember what gauge pods. They might be prosport.

I'm not sure if I did it right, parts cleaner and a shop towel.
