Refreshing the stock caliper wasn't as bad as i thought it be . Most time consuming part was cleaning and polishing up the mazda letter. Clean it up with brake cleaner and take a 400grit paper dry sand it till the letters shine.
i tried what others on here suggested with a drill or rotary tool to wire wheel it . Didnt turn out so good it was gouging the metal making it rougher and rougher lol

anyways once its shiny i cleaned the rest up with a wire scrub and brake cleaner. Masked off the letters and hit it with VHT black gloss caliper paint. Once it drys hit it with gloss clear.
A-vuala nice caliper

one of my favourite build threads. Doing it just how i would like it.

Sanded the lettering a little better and then applied a few more coats of high temp gloss clear . I peaked at my diyness lol

DaleClark 03-06-18 11:22 AM

FYI you don't have to mask the letters off. Sand them and get them all good, then paint the caliper. After the paint dries sand the paint off the letters. Much easier than trying to individually mask off each letter.

Got me some oem head light lids at a steal price :ylsuper: thanks to ebay 1 time coupon code.

annnnnnnnd a box of reall good goods . Finally...
also i may add i restored fate in fedex boxing skills once again
each item is double bubble wrapped and stuffed with shipping paper as separation. The part being shipped is heavy..has striaght edges and quite fragile if landed onto the right way .however, who ever wrapped these at fedex, thank you. You did a great job.

thanks for the compliment. Parts collecting is probably the hardest parts ? Or so i thought. Putting it all in motion was pretty fluid. Now the execution part of all this madness is whats im having trouble with lol. Paint....more paint... and install the carpet all are huge projects by it self
after all that i still have to install the v mount >_<

Johnny Kommavongsa 05-06-18 07:53 PM

Nice. Where did u get the hood and did shipping take forever?

weather was nice and overcast, low mid 60s throughout the event
not the usual 90+ with torching sun no cloud beaming straight on your forehead weather. The 2 hour drive each way was lovely

kensin 05-25-18 03:47 AM

https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...0f2f05082c.jpg
how dose my gas tank look?

i know i must do the pump rewire mod but i dont have the confidence to tackle that just yet...
wiring stuff makes me cringe
ill work up the courage one day!

Johnny Kommavongsa 05-25-18 07:12 AM

gotta love installing new parts.

As for the pump rewire, have you seen the rewire where you modify the front fuse box? it's really strait forward.

Testrun 05-25-18 04:42 PM

Man thanks for such a complete thread. Awesome build you have going. Very clean! No way will I be able to deliver such a thorough thread!

jinyi 06-20-18 01:35 PM

wow looks nice

gmonsen 06-21-18 09:56 PM

Any pictures of the Regamasters on it? I really like the way they look. Always felt like they needed some kind of center cap. But, then, I'm pretty eccentric, I'm afraid. :)

kensin 06-22-18 09:59 PM

They do have center caps. Infact i have a set of new ones lol
the tires will be mounted soon. And the look will be revealed

kensin 08-03-18 09:55 PM

Installed the PFC running on base mod map atm. So smooth i should have done it sooner. The ridiculous 3k jerk is gone now. Well worth it

also installed the turbojeff pfc , datalogit holder. Just like any of his product's. Superb !

kensin 09-15-18 01:38 AM

10awg to 10awg oem battery power source
simple, clean rewire like nothing happened. Retains factory 1-2 speed 9v-12v system

TwinCharged RX7 09-23-18 01:07 AM

Testrun 11-05-18 09:58 AM
