Are you still on a 3" exhaust? If so you probably want to consider going bigger for that level of power.

Also, 750cc's of 50/50 isn't enough at that power level and because it's going through the turbo first you're minimizing the cooling effect of the water by the time it reaches the motor. I'd add a additional 400CC's of water post intercooler in order to keep things happy. People have made even more power then you on 93 octane, but they've done it with 1,200+cc's of pure water.

Congrats on the awesome number though! Glad to see you're still going at it.

Thanks buddy!

Full 4" exhaust.

I was starting to think it wasn't quite enough too. My plan is to turn it down to 20psi on the new setup and call it good. That should be around 500whp. I considered drilling my atomizer for more flow, but I don't want to run into premature compressor wear. As such, I will be more than happy with 500whp. My mind was fixed on continuing to run 24psi, since I did with the cast wheel, and it bit me.

As far as still going at it... yep, still here. An LS3/stroker has crossed my mind a time or two. I will continue to fight the good fight though.

XL8R, your last post reminds me to ask: were you using the stock fuel injector atomizers? (may be a dumb question)

YES... I asked Rob at Pineapple, and they do replace the atomizers in their builds. I checked when I was putting it together and they were there. Considering they were new, I didn't worry about them too much. I guess we will see if their still their...lol.

LOL.. Ugh, I know buddy! Damn power bug is infectious. I have no doubts that engine would have lasted for years at my 14psi setting (430whp). I never really planned to run around at 24psi constantly. It was really just there for the "check this out" factor. Even 400whp on the street is ridiculous. I have kind of an extreme personality. I like to push the things I enjoy to the limit.

Once you hear that turbo sound like it's going to inhale everything in the room... it's all over!

Yes, 427whp actually. It is good! I was pretty impressed with the entire setup really. As I learned, the hotside makes such a huge difference.

This is a graph of 14psi with the billet wheel, and 14psi with the cast wheel. No other changes... I will post a comparison of the high boost run with both wheels as well. In all the confusion, I forgot to get that one.

Correct. Late closing timming of the intake effects compression due to reversion back up the runners. Exhaust ports dont effect compression at all. Also don't forget about your elevation plays an even bigger roll in the numbers. Your engine will make more compression near sea level.

maybe you're referring to the cold side? i wasnt aware of any billet turbine wheels.

those numbers look pretty good. makes me wonder what mine would do at 14 on a dynojet. i know the .84 turbine housing is holding me back a little.

edit: also, i see you're skating right on 12.0:1 after there... brave.

I was actually referring to the hotside in terms of 1.15ar and the full 4" exhaust. I guess I shifted gears in my head even though we were talking about the billet wheel.

Yes, the AFR's were a little brave on that run.

Still considering it buddy. I'm not for sure yet. Nothing is happening soon, so I have lots of time to think about it...

if you do in fact go to the boring side, make sure you don't boost it, tune it to a risky 12.0:1 AFR at a risky 24psi with AI.

AFR's were at or under 11:7 at 24psi. I did take it to a trusted tuner who tunes to those AFR's with conservative timing (13). In retrospect, I feel they are on the risky side.

It would remain NA.

As I mentioned, I haven't decided yet, but I am definitely tossing it around. I really didn't expect stabs about my setup after I mentioned going V8, but maybe you were just waiting to tell me. Many people have more experience than me, so I am definitely still learning in some areas.

As far as the V8 swap goes, we shall see. I'm not deciding anytime soon as I have to move to MS in January. Just bought a house so my wife and I have lots to deal with.

Sorry to hear about your engine.

If you do go V8 she will fit in perfectly down south in the land of Mustangs & Camaros.
When I was at Keesler I was about the only rotary around :/
There was like only three of us Rotards in a 60 mile radius.

I thought about going the v8 route as well, but will wait to see how my rotary turns out. My goal if I went v8 would be to put ITB's on the v8, if you go v8 might as well be somewhat unique compared to all the other v8 swaps.

i was just saying that you were pushing the envelope both in rotary-realm AFR (from what i've seen, most people shoot for mid-low 11s or even high 10s!) and boost on 93 octane gasoline (albeit with AI, which i do admit i've never been a big fan of).

i wasn't waiting to take a stab at your setup, as it looks solid and very well done. stabbing was not my intent. it is very impressive and i'd actually love to have it! my post was a little sarcastic though, because honestly, when people say "well, the rotary blew, so i'm considering going LS1" it's usually because of a desire for reliability, simplicity, and power. a slightly "lower risk" version of your setup would have all three of those things, and make more power than a lot of LS1s --and definitely be way cooler.

if it were me, i'd run 13-14 psi on 93 octane, sell the AI setup, and tune for low 11's AFRs. 400whp and relatively simple; no boring LS1 setup (the rotary FDs are becoming more rare than the v8 swapped ones!) and turn the boost down a little for track days.
also, you have a rotor tattoo'd on your arm, right? only go to GM for their EMS sensors and their ignition coils

I really love your build man, if you decide to go V8 please just get a Corvette. Let the RX remain with what the name and car was designed in mind

93 octane and W/I is fine for 18-20 psi, i woudlnt push past that. I would stay at 18psi and call it a day or keep the AI and just mix 3 or 4 gallons of race fuel and you can shoot for 25psi.
