New update. Rotors and eshaft are off getting balanced! One rotor face is dented, so all new rotor to replace. Also picked up a OEM 99 spec bumper and lip, with a new fender from Fritz. Also adding an additional oil cooler mishimoto 36 row oil cooler.

Looks like an unsprung clutch.........

Straight track car no worries but any street time and I'd recommend not doing that.

Blaster5337 12-09-17 02:09 PM

Yeah she will engage pretty hard but the t56 will handle it no problem. Maybe not the best choice for street comfort but that dog will hunt lol

That dog will hunt but it's not going to walk on a leash LOL

Will get a pic of the diffuser to you later today :)

I have an unsprung ACT on my stock FD transmission and don't have too many issues. Certainly not the best choice but it's manageable for sure.

Yep. I used one on a DD FD for about 2 months and I wouldn't recommend it for any type of street use. Makes zero sense.

On a track car it will save you a few tenths so if you really need those 10nths to get on the podium then go for it. I'd never put a unsprung disc on a track car unless I was racing for a living/money.

Anywho I'd seriously recommend putting in a sprung 6 puck minimum (which you will still need to slip a little in traffic). If you don't have over 400 HP then no need for a 6 puck and it will be a pleasure to drive, you won't have to slip the clutch etc....

PS The car I bought that had the non sprung clutch also had solid motor mounts. ANOTHER really big problem or something I'd never do with this car. Solid mounts work great on 911s but they absolutely suck for the FD.

car at will be closer to 600hp with water meth and it is being built as a half mile car for the beast coast shootout events. Always on set to kill mode.

More pics of that wheel setup! It was one of my options as well... is that 17x10 and 17x9?

Looks great!

Did i read you're going T56? More info on that!

TwinCharged RX7 12-17-17 12:01 AM

Makes no sense to go unsprung. There are plenty of good clutches that have good street manners and still hold way over 600whp. Why would you want to make a car less enjoyable to drive while not gaining any performance benefit as a trade off?

Blaster5337 12-17-17 06:54 AM

I'll tell you what, at least for me, you drive it one or two times and you can't even tell a difference between the two. But that's just me.
