93 R1 Single Turbo - The Clueless Build

I purchased my FD through the forum a few years ago, and have just picked it up from my mechanic (after a long, arduous, torturous re-build process). Regardless, she is up and running now, and I finally have my car to work on building in my vision.

I'm very much a newbie when it comes to wrenching, however I'm excited to learn, and hopefully help other newbs lurking out there. This forum is an endless source of knowledge, however I've often found:
a) with the age of the forum, some threads are many years old; sometimes there are broken links or OP's who are no longer active
b) a certain level of technical expertise is a given, and especially on older threads its not possible to ask questions which may be stupid or obvious to some!

I plan to use this space as way to track the build process of my car under the watchful eye of rx7club. I also want to provide some updated content in 2019 for recent owners who are maintaining these iconic cars, in a easy to understand step-by-step way. It may be obvious to some but those kind of threads have been an immense help to someone clueless like me.

Goals
Build on a "budget" - meaning doing simple things right. Myself where possible, calling in professionals where needed! I want to choose the best parts and upgrades to my tastes, even if it means a slower build process
Update my FD - The exterior design is a timeless classic, I want to bring the interior and some of the creature comforts up to date while keeping the car true to its original form. There are modern cars now (e.g. Alfa 4C, 996/7 911 GT3s) which have very simple (old school?) interiors. However the use of modern materials and upgrades mean they still work well today.

Built in line with my plans of streetability with good power. Currently on run-in tune, hoping to make 400whp on a conservative tune! Future plans are to re-do the intercooler and radiator setup, and do a really nice cleanup of the engine bay with tucking of wires. I plan to keep functioning AC, though have removed ABS (apparently rubbish on these cars anyway?). Final tune and dyno day scheduled for late Feb/March, will post updates when done!

Nice Looks like u have a good foundation.

I saw the updates on FB, cool to see it back together and on the road. Be sure to keep an occasional eye of the NE section of the forum, we DMV located guys try to meet up once or twice a year for Rocky's cruise.
