It's about time for an update! Life got in the way and the new job didn't work out, but I'm still determined to finish this. I got a little fed up chasing down small parts for the front end and figured that since I needed a bunch of new metal welded on I might as well get a nose cut. This came yesterday and today it was pulled apart.

I'm really torn on how I will get this welded on properly. I'll probably order brand new metal that attaches right behind the headlight buckets and connects to the strut towers. It will all be spot welded like it came from the factory. Where I really have an issue is if I want to splice the frame together like this: https://www.rx7club.com/build-thread.../#post10927540

Splicing it would provide for the best alignment, however to do so properly it needs an inner sleeve slipped inside the frame arms. Simply butt welding without a sleeve isn't the right way nor the safest way. The other option is to drill out or burn out all the spot welds at the core support and headlight buckets. Keeping the proper spacing then is a challenge when welding it all back together. Either way, I'm having a body shop do this, but first I need to finish removing a few more parts on the car. The goal is to have it to the body shop by the end of January.
