stayabovethelaw DOESN'T: Poor Seller

I hate to make a thread like this, but a couple mods have asked me to. Plus it's the responsible thing to do I guess. I'd hate to see someone else get shafted like I did.

ANYWAY>>>
I bought a steering rack for my FD from the RX-7 Club member called stayabovethelaw for 350 bucks shipped. He described it as "perfect condition" and "from a 36,000 mile car".

My builder took one look at it and told me 'no way this is from a low mileage car'. I hoped for the better. Once he took my old rack out and saw that the rack from my 150,000 mile car was less rusty and in better condition, I contacted stayabovethelaw for some kind of refund/return or even explanation.
He told me that I don't even work on my own car which makes me an idiot and my builder doesn't know what he's talking about.
I wanna make one thing clear, I've done ALL the work on my FD, short of rat's nest (rotorsport2) and engine rebuild (addicted). My wife recently (well...a couple years now) got a job at Bruce Canepa Motorsports. Check em out on Google and ask yourself...would you trust their top 959 guy...their top TURBO guy...to work on your RX-7? Did I mention that he drives an FD and is on this club?

Anyway, my point is the builder definitely knows what a good steering rack looks like, and mine wasn't good.

Stayabovethelaw and I are in the middle of a paypal dispute now. Pretty weak transaction all around.

I don't think he's gonna be selling here anytime soon, but if you see selling stuff him on a different club or whatever, Steer Clear! :icon_tdow

He inferred that his Poop didn't stink.
I told him it did.
He said smell it.
I told him again it did...I know my Poop!
He insisted.
Obviously he didn't know Poop...all Poop stinks!
So,I Banned him.

After trying to talk with this Member and get him to initiate a response and fix the transaction I got nothing but excuses and profanity.
The last straw was really insulting to my intelligence...so He can use other venues to puff his chest on.
I gave him ample opportunity and got Pm's back blaming everyone except the guy that Sold the rack..HIM.
Hell to a certain degree he tried blaming me for the bad transaction..What???
It was an administrative decision to protect others by rescinding his account so no further transactions could be made by this now former member.
He had a week off to think about it,then comes back on and wanted to resume affairs like nothing happened. He also wanted me to re-open all ads he was selling on..NO..sorry about your luck.If you didn't take care of this transaction I am not going to be cleaning your mess on the next one.He has his chance and did not even flinch.

Moral of the story: If you have a complaint, address it...and don't get others involved and ask them to smell your poop.
