I purchased a set of apparently brand new, in the box coilovers for 750.00 from member Sgt Fury in this thread: [URL="https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-rx-7-1993-2002-parts-99/short-block-apexi-exv-n1-coilovers-more-1017293/[/URL]

Payment was sent Nov 13, 2012, and I received a pm saying they will be sent out the following Monday with a tracking number.

He has logged in nearly every day since then, with no reply in his thread or following through with a tracking number. At this point I don't even want the coilovers just my money back. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and posted in his thread asking for an update, and then again asking that he at least make contact within 24 hours - He logged in, and still nothing.

Beware of dealing this member.

And if you need anything else, just ask please. I just dont want anyone else to get burned, and my money back.

MazdaSpeedDan 11-23-12 04:33 PM

It is a holiday time, so he might just be late on all the stuff and is to embarrased to reply to you, you might just get them in the mail tommorow.

MazdaSpeedDan 11-23-12 04:34 PM

PM DJSEVEN and see if he got his shortblock....

rx7roller02 11-23-12 04:37 PM

I locked his FS thread until this gets sorted out.

TougeSpirit 11-23-12 04:54 PM

Wow thank you for the very quick replies. I'll contact the post office Monday and see if anything has been delivered.

djseven 11-23-12 06:30 PM

I havent picked up the short block as I have been out of town. I have been texting with him and he said he is out of town until Tuesday. He has been communicating with me through text and I just asked him about this and he said he sent your coilovers out Wednesday. So, you will likely get them Tues-Thurs depending on what part of Canada.

rx7roller02 11-23-12 07:53 PM

out of town, maybe.....but he's had the time to log into the forum every day....there is no excuse at all for being in here all this week and not answering your buyer at all.

This pretty much sums it up, I didn't go and make a big deal of this at first like I see sometimes on here. I gave it a few days as people have lives and things come up but since no tracking was sent, but he was logging in and not making contact it was likely they haven't been shipped so I asked if he could just let me know whats up. I gave him ample time to get back to me due to it being the holidays, just any shipment news good or bad would've been nice.

Circuit Theory 11-24-12 05:13 AM

Am I the only person who thinks this thread was not needed?
Now even if it turns out he shippd them 2 days after he had planned and had some poor communication during thanksgiving week, he now has a thread with his name smeared as a scammer???

That seems a bit unfair if you ask me. By all means at this point his communication sucks and that can be reflected in his i-trader if you choose to do so. I feel that making a bad guy thread about this without it even being resolved or proven that he ran away or took a significant amount of time to ship them out is a bit overkill.

Anyhow I hope you get your coilovers and or tracking #...

rx7roller02 11-24-12 06:53 PM

First, this section is for any and all issues that arise from transactions done through this forum--not just scams. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but when the guy is on here every day without fail, he's obviously seen his FS thread because he's posted in it. He's obviously been here to know if he has any PMs....and he has not responded to any of them. He has had more than enough time and more than enough opportunity to tell his buyer what's up....and he has not said one word. That does not fly with me.

Second, there is nothing that brands him as a scammer. Having a bad feedback thread is not the end of the world--in fact, if he redeems himself in proper fashion, it will actually show people down the road that read this thread that he took care of business. That actually helps him, it doesnt hurt him in any way.

Third, nothing that has happened to this point is permanent. I closed his thread as a temporary measure because too many scammers in the past have taken advantage of a slower response to take even more money from our members. You are looking at this transaction, at this seller....I do not have that luxury. I have to look at this whole forum, all of our members, and consider the patterns that we have seen in the past. Certainly you should have no problem understanding that caution is the way to go to ensure that we do not actually have a scammer still running around taking more money? As I said, if he makes good, no worries, his thread gets reopened, this one closed, and life goes on.

Finally, and I mean this with all respect to you, you do not have the position of seeing all the scamming that we have seen throughout the last ten years on this forum. I have. Before I was even a mod here I was helping to bust scammers. This place used to be known as a scammer's heaven, where they could operate pretty much right in the open. It is not that way anymore, thanks to efforts like these. In other words, I do not need you to tell me how to do what I do here. Are you on any other car forums? If so, you may or may not have seen people get scammed....unless it is really big, like someone stealing a car, most car forums do not do very much to help you out. We're different here. Our members get the benefit of that work. A fast response is what I use because it works--it protects our buyers without harming our sellers. Thanks for your input.

EDIT--he was on here yesterday, and said nothing. He was on here again today....and still said nothing. He promised to ship on Monday. It's now Saturday. He's been on here every day--how many more chances do you think we should give him to respond before we take any action? He promised a tracking number....he has not even popped up to answer his buyer in any way. He told someone else that "it was shipped on Wednesday", but he's on here every day and cannot just send a simple PM to provide tracking info? youre kidding, right? you see a deal that is too recent to do anything about...I see a seller that has been on here every day, and has refused to send as much as a single PM to let his buyer know anything. NOT acceptable.

southsidecox 11-24-12 07:19 PM

and its easy for us to say"hey, dont freak out man"course its not our $750 on the line,i did a $650 deal on here last year,it worked out even though the seller had the "family emergency" come up right before shipping, let me tell you,i was in panic mode when i heard that, scared me enough to just not want to do any more high dollar deals on the internet...

TougeSpirit 11-26-12 12:09 AM

Sgt fury made contact today, personal issues came up and he said they are ready to be shipped tomorrow - again against what the previous poster said he told him but he has replied non the less. I do agree the thread title stating "scammer" was a bit harsh although considering the sum of money involved and I provided almost a week to at least get back to me, I immediately took preemptive measures to get this taken care of. It can be changed to "Refuses to make communication" or something along those lines if mods wish as long as this comes to a solution. Again I'm not out trying to give anyone a negative image here, I would just like this resolved and enough time was given for non of this to happen especially considering the details. Thanks again.

Circuit Theory 11-26-12 01:23 AM

glad to hear he contacted, sorry to hear he still has not shipped them.

This doesnt give me much confidence in him now. I sent him $800.00 for an engine and am having second thoughts now. Let me know if he sends you a legit tracking number.

Well he logged in again, and nothing as usual. No tracking number, no pm. Pretty sad how he is dealing with this.

TougeSpirit 11-26-12 04:24 PM

Update.. I couldn't update my previous post but a tracking number was provided and I'll post again if or when the tracking for it becomes available.

GoodfellaFD3S 11-26-12 05:39 PM

It would take all of 2 minutes for him to post something publicly in this thread....... not impressed with how he is handling this. If he has a situation that is limiting his ability to take care of his classifieds commitments, he should let people know.

Well it looks like the tracking number is real and they are on the way. Thank you Roller, and good luck DJ on getting your short block. Too bad the total lack of communication lead to all this.

Circuit Theory 11-29-12 10:00 PM

Did your suspension ever arive? Were they new?

rx7roller02 12-01-12 01:17 AM

Please update us when you can, thanks.

TougeSpirit 12-01-12 04:14 PM

I'll be picking them up tomorrow.

djseven 12-02-12 02:04 PM

Picked the engine up this morning. He even threw in the longblock accessories.

TougeSpirit 12-02-12 05:46 PM

Picked up the shocks today, still in the original box even as described.

GoodfellaFD3S 12-02-12 09:37 PM

So all is right with the world? You'd like me to amend the thread title?

If you could that would be great. Communication was pretty bad.. enough to get at least two members worried but in the end everything worked out. I didn't mean to call the guy out so hard, but after a week of daily log ins with no reply, it was in my opinion warranted based on the trend of members going MIA during transactions lately. Thanks again Roller and Goodfella - Set the title as you see fit :).
