This guy is a scam artist... I've been waiting on the $200+ he owes me for over four months. He's been saying that he's in financial trouble... but who can't make 200 bucks in four months? Especially when you own an FD...

Does anyone know of someone who knows Chris Hill in Naperville, IL? I'm just planning on taking him to court for my money... but thought if we could get someone to 'visit' that he'd make a payment.

Anyone out there reading this: AVOID CHITOWNR1 (AKA MIDWESTBEST.NET) like the plague!

Christian, I know you're a good guy and have your plate full with all sorts of things, but the fact that you decided to step in earlier to be the "arbitrator" between Chitown and the rest of the Chicago/RX-7 community means something needs to get done. You let him continue to post F/S threads on the local forum and it does appear that he's making sales so obviously something is wrong here. Chris keeps claiming he made right on his mistakes, but that is apparently NOT the case. This is getting to be very stupid and very rediculous and the fact that the Chicago community seems to be "cool" with Chris makes no f**kin' sense to me. Please take some necessary action because I definitely do not plan on attending local events where I know known scammers will be.

Thanks,

Rizwan

Wow, and to think i actually talked to Chris online the past month or so off and on and he said everything was almost taken care of. What a douche bag. I am going to go take some parts off his show car and pay everyone back with those...I wonder how he afforded some parts for his show car? hmmmm.

Heck, I figure if the parts never made it here, why would a money order or cashier's check?

The last payment I received was at least 2 months ago, if not more. I can easily look it up if it makes any difference. I keep trying to pester him via AIM & emails but honestly I'm tired of having to keep on him just to get my damn $ back. As bluhring mentioned, last I talked to him he mentioned financial problems and something about selling an intercooler to pay some of us back. Still haven't seen anything from that conversation.

Rizwan,

Like I said, had I known...

I had decided to give him a second chance after the first round of BS. He wasn't really selling that much through the site and I had said as a vendor, he can't as I don't have anything in place for that yet. However, when I read this and after meeting him, I've banned him from RC3 as well. Didn't get a really good impression from him at all. He seemed to be more interested in his own thing than everyone elses...typical salesman.

As far as getting resolution for the outstanding issues, I'll do what I can. I'm not in a position to demand a whole lot obviously. If he claims he had sent money, have him produce some proof. If he can't, then file it with the court. I've done that before and while it takes some time, if you have your ducks in a row, you'll win easily. And yes, you can get court costs rolled in to the judgement.

FYI: It appears that Chris has scammed another forum member (Lean Back).

Same situation... He asks for money/parts and then says he'll send parts/money in return but never does. Looks like he's providing fake tracking numbers again too.

For me this is what conviced me....

From:Chris Hill [respectcs@gmail.com]

Yes, I have the IC and scoop with it. I was about to post it on ebay because I am very low on funds. If you would like to have a member of RC3(www.Rotarychicago.com) or from the RX7club boards to come out and pick it up for you I would have no problem with that. As far as the rep thing on the boards goes I am no longer on any boards besides ChicagoRotary and they can come look for you if needed. Either way I will still do it for $350 so let me know. Thanks

Hey,

I don't remember your name but awhile back you were on rx7club and getting a lot of heat. We had agreed to bring your rep up to par that you would ship me the IC and than I would scope it and pay you the 350$ like we had agreed upon. I am wondering if you are still alive or if you still have this IC? Dradon03 on the forum.

I was just sending out the email for the heck of it to see for myself. Supposedly Craig not Chris well when I got the name back as Chris Green I was sufficently qued. It was the email "Craig" had given and the links he gave were to Rotary clubs like veterans type clubs, idiot.

In response to the court thing, I don't know how it works across state lines. It's a whole other ball game then. But this is what I did for my local small claims.

Went to the county court where I reside and filed a claim against a painter. You state the situation and the damages you're looking for. Give all the information for the defendant (name, address, number, etc). They'll process it, send a notice to whomever and into court you do. Bring EVERY piece of proof you have. Emails, PMs, chat convos, paypal statements or copies of checks, money orders, etc. If he gave you a bunk tracking #, then look up the number he gave you and get a screenshot of the result.

Now, again, it being across state lines, I don't know how it works. Best bet is to ask the clerk as they'll know how to handle it in the respective state.

I am in no way endorsing Chris as a seller, because this process has been painful.

However, Chris and I have made an agreement regarding the repayment of the amount owed to me. He made a payment recently, and while he still owes me money, it appears that he is holding to the agreement.

Should things change, I will certainly post to this thread.

Three weeks ago, Chris agreed to the following payment schedule...

4/6: $100 - paid.
4/13: $100 - paid.
4/20: $ 50 - NOT PAID

The first payment came from a what I assume to be his friend's paypal account. It included a sarcastic comment about 'hushing' me up on the forums. Obviously, his friend thinks WE are the ones being a-holes. The second payment came on time from Chris's account.

I'm still waiting on the final payment of $50... I e-mailed him but haven't heard anything yet.

Hey, at least you got something, I haven't received crap and was promised the same payment schedule. I was also promised photos of some parts as partial trade credit but never got those either.

I too have sent several emails & IMs and heard nothing. I talked to his wife once, but she said "give me a min." to go call him and that was the last I heard of her. If it really even was her.

This whole ordeal is really ticking me off.

Shall we start the lawsuit as agreed to in the email?

I'm game with taking this to court if I don't have my remaining money sent to me by this Friday... This guy has got to be stopped.

The funniest part of this whole thing is that his last e-mail to us said we could take him to court if he didn't pay us. It was his way of telling us he was serious about paying us this time... Well, we all knew how good his word was to begin with. I guess he WANTS to go to court? It's almost like he wants a criminal record...

charlies7: It looks like you may know this guy based on your previous post. Could you try to talk some sense into this loser...?

I have never met this guy personally nor have the desire to. He even tried selling me parts that were total crap that he sent me pictures of and im only 30 minutes from his place. There really isnt anything i can do about this situation since im not involved. If i were to talk to him that would accomplish nothing becuase he is a low life scumbag..File a suit in small claims court.

I stress that i DO NOT know this guy..Only conversions we had on aim..

OH BTW...Hes on the forum and his new user ID is ImTheDriver enjoy!

Wow, he really said that?

This guy is the biggest liar I've ever seen. I'm beginning to think that he may have a psychological problem or something. It's compulsive... He lies. Then he lies some more. Then, he lies about his lies.

Bottom line is that he still owes me money. And as far as I know, he still owes "Smeagol" money. Last I heard, Smeagol was putting together the information required to take him to court. I'm going to join his case when he puts it together...

Chris clearly has the money - in parts and/or cash. So collecting on a court ordered payment would be relatively easy.

Yes, he also said that he would post pics of these interior panels that he claims to own behind "any background I wish." Of course it never happened because he was lying all along.

He's lying (surprise, surprise...) He still owes me $50. The funniest part is that HE knows he owes me money - it's in the e-mails he sent me (which I'm more than happy to share...) Man, this guy is the worlds biggest A$$!

I can't speak for smeagol, but my guess is that he's lying about that too.
