BAD SELLER angel824 BEWARE!

So I posted a up a WTB in 3rd gen section for a turbo kit, looking to get a decent kit but also pay the price for it. I have seen some fairly good ones but maybe this one I bought was to good to be true.

angel824- had a precision 5862 with I am guessing an old school aspec manifold with a 44mm tial waste gate. I bought this kit around Christmas time and got in on a couple weeks ago but didnt really get to turn on the car around last week or so.

First off he mentioned he took the car to Aspec to get it inspected to see if they saw anything wrong with the kit and they stated good to go. I did receive pictures of the kit and asked multiple questions regarding the turbo kit before I said yes I will but it

Soon as I got the kit I inspected the manifold and clearly you can see it was cracked in 2 sections after I asked him if it was crack and he said no. So as a courtesy he sent me via paypal $200 back to get it rewelded. So now that I have the kit on my car is smoking and me thinking it was a bad rebuilt engine, I did a quick test on the turbo and surely the Turbo is also bad. I have asked around to some builders and also took it to get inspected by a local turbo shop and clearly the rear seal of the turbo is bad.

Full price on this used turbo kit I paid $1200.00 I guess I get what I pay for.

Jon.

if it is an a-spec manifold have you tried contacting them to see if they will fix it for free or reduced cost as I thought they were all lifetime warrantied? Not sure if that warranty extends beyond the original purchaser though...

Just went through all my PMs and after seeing yours I figured I would check here to see if you posted anything.

I'm sorry for this not turning out to be the best purchase but it was not my intention by any means.

First off, you paid $1,100. I can post a screenshot of the PayPal deposit if you would like. It is for $1,067 after fees. It cost $100 for shipping and I refunded $200 already for the manifold. This means you paid $800 for what you have.

I had my car inspected by A-spec and was told everything was ok, including my turbo. Of course, that was not the case with the manifold. I have since discontinued all business with them because I feel I can't trust their prognosis.

The issue I have is that the turbo didn't smoke while I used it on my car. It was driven a couple weeks before I pulled it and sold it to you. It was over a month before you sent back about the turbo. You also mentioned that you had it on your car and drove it finding out it had a bad seal. With the time that past how am I to know what happened? Now, I am not saying that you are lying or trying to scam money out of me because you have already seen that I try to be fair. I am just trying to give you my perspective. I don't know if you threw it on and went ham and blew it while on your car. I also don't know if I sent you a bad turbo though as well.

So, all in all. What is fair? I can show you a bill from A-spec to show you that it was there. Not that it holds a lot of weight, but how can we figure out exactly what happened here? What did it cost you to rebuild the manifold? What is the real value you paid for the turbo? And finally, what will it cost to get the turbo fixed?

I am not by any means out to hose someone. Why didn't you text or call me? You have my number. I am all for fair. I just don't know how to figure out what is fair.

I would welcome some outside opinions.
