I am in agreement with the others here. You're a reputable business, send Rob another downpipe at no cost to him or pay for the adjustments to make the downpipe fit. There are no other options and both will not break the bank. I understand that Turblown is busy but good customer service speaks volumes and will guarantee repeat business. This is unacceptable.

Not looking good for Turblown. I mean how hard is it to send another downpipe? It's one of the cheaper components of the kit. I know it's international shipping is a bitch but at least offer to split the shipping cost to show that you are offering something that resembles customer service...

Since we are on this topic, my downpipe from the turblown kit sits a little low as well but not that low. And to be fair, I do have aftermarket engine mounts so who knows...

Its Obvious that Turblown doesn't care anything about doing the right thing here. I hope EVERYONE see's this and boycotts him. There is no excuse for this crap!

I had a similar situation where a product I purchased from Turblown wasn't assembled properly. It was the $150 fuel pressure sensor for my FPR to ECU. I was at a rotary shop with a tuning appointment, so what should have been a simple plug 'n play turned to confusion. The readings weren't normal. I messaged Turblown with pictures and then called them to explain the situation. All I got was an, "okay," then silence. I asked to be sent a replacement ASAP, but he told us to re-pin it ourselves. There was concern the wires may have been fried since they were cross-pinned. No apology for the inconvenience, it just didn't sound like he cared at all. I wasn't well-versed in wires at the time and was told to just Google it to figure it out.

Prior to that I had also purchased a turbo kit from them. The drop down menu listed everything it was to come with, but I was missing the actuator adapter when it arrived. I messaged them noting this and was informed that that part was added to the kit after my order. Except, it was definitely listed before my order as I took a screen pic to a buddy before my order to see if it was worth it. They did send it out, but the email made it sound like they were doing me a favor that they didn't need to rather than just accept they forgot to pack it.

I get that mistakes happen and I don't usually mind it. It's how you resolve mistakes that matter to me. With my own two situations where Turblown wouldn't just say, "sorry, we'll fix it by xxxxx," but instead acting as if it's an inconvenience to them shows their flawed character. Once they have your money, it seems they don't care anymore. Now, I'm not surprised seeing that others have had similar situations that could have been easily handled. It's just plain incredulous they carry on like that.

Now it's just amusing to see that he feels the need to name drop Rob Dahm so much. I guess that's where the money is so everyone else be damned.

I was also missing the actuator adapter from my kit. Silly me didn't check everything when it arrived and assumed it was all there. When it came to install time I eneded up having to buy another one from Turblown. After reading your post it may be likely that it was also left out from my kit, but I can't confirm that for sure.

A couple of other little surprises I have discovered along the way:

If you live in an area where your car is RHD then you won't be sent a heater core line as part of your kit. I dont remember seeing this at the time I ordered mine, but now it's only mentioned at the very end of the page that this is for LHD cars only. If you have a RHD RX7 then you need to modify your heater core line yourself. No price adjustment either.

This is incorrect if you are running a Mikuni pump with RA OMP adapter. Bending the hardline won't help in this situation. I mentioned this to Elliot quite some time ago but the website hasn't been updated to reflect this.

Also it was nice to be supplied a 3" flange gasket with my 3.5" downpipe. Elliot has confirmed to me that only 3" gaskets are provided regardless of what size downpipe you purchase. Strange, but yeah ok.

It seems that Turblown do log in quite regularly but don't have much to say.

I have received a message from Turblown advising that the replacement pipe is nearly done. Will update once I receive the pipe.

Its sad that it has come down to robdog86 having to create a thread in order for Turblown to do the right thing. That alone should influence anyone who would consider purchasing items from them in the future. Actions over words, hope they do truly resolve this for you robdog86.

As a counterpoint, I had a less than stellar interaction with the Turblown account here when it was apparently shared between both Shawn and Elliott that caused me to go through a different vendor (who also promised they could provide what they could not, but that's another story) on a fairly in depth build for a customer and when Elliott heard of it he reached out very calmy and politely to correct it and even though I was not a customer at that point he wanted to ensure that I had info I needed.

In my estimation there was an incorrect part supplied and Turblown certainly is responsible for resolving the issue which he/they are now doing so Id hope we can take a 'wait and see' attitude rather than continuing to pile on. Mob rule sucks.

Mob rule is one thing but Turblown has plenty of time to resolve this and all we have heard is blaming and excuses. His obvious lack of concern, finger pointing and lack of response in this thread tells us to beware. Turblown is is own worst enemy here, Mob rule did not do that, Turblown himself did! He has his money, he needs to produce the CORRECT part for his customer, like yesterday!

I think you're missing my point with regards to wait and see, especially seeing as the OP has stated that he obviously is now in contact with Elliott and that the part is almost complete, meanwhile you're still carrying the pitchfork. So again, mob rule sucks, and unfortunately you're kind of perpetrating it.

Excuse me? Im perpetrating this?? Did you actually read the thread chief? This has been going on for over a month atleast!! He shipped him the wrong part, blamed it on the customer, made excuses, and only now after this thread is he "supposedly" working to make this right?
Sorry bud, you can be in his fan club all you want to but the facts are pretty clear here son. I wouldn't buy crap from the dude and would advise EVERYONE else i know the same. It should NEVER take a thread like this to FORCE him to do the right thing!! If he even ever does!

If you think that devolving to veiled insults with the 'chief', 'bud', 'son' and insinuating that I'm in a fan club for a vendor that I've very clearly stated lost my business is actually discourse then I don't know what to say to you. Have a nice life.

Do not accuse me of perpetrating something if your not prepared for some push back. I did not insult you? If you think "chief, Bud, or Son" are insults, You may need to grow thicker skin.... You have a nice life sir!

Hi Folks. Turblown is taking corrective action, as best they can. The nature of the distances and manufacturing cycles is making this take a while.

I'm optimistic this will be well resolved, so let's just wait for confirmation from the relevant parties. No need for more salacious commentary, please.

We just received some CNC flanges and will have a new downpipe off to Rob late this week. As mentioned via email before this thread we would exchange one for him, we never intended to leave him hanging. I do realize my initial response wasn't clear enough via email, I didn't mean to say he would have to wait 7 months...

Not in defense of anyone here, but I think we have to remember supply chains may be disrupted due to COVID... just saying...

Being in the manufacturing industry, it's largely unaffected with the exception of some shops having a lack of orders due to their customers being shut down. Most shops were considered essential businesses and never shutdown, especially because most shops do government contracts in one way or another. Even then, if he's got a CAD model of the part, upload it to Xometry, Protolabs, Fictiv, etc and get this sorted out. It's something that's always pissed me off about automotive industry, I hear this crap about MONTHS of lead time to get things made, yet I can name 5 shops right now that could have jigs and tooling made for this and batch out a few hundred of these in a matter of weeks. If I've got money, there is zero reason production of any part should take longer than a matter of weeks, and most shops offer expedite service for an additional 30-50%.

The shop I worked at offered prototypes within 5 days. Other machine shops I worked with took our prototypes and batched out thousands in 4 weeks, and that's pathetic compared to getting them made in Japan, S. Korea, or Taiwan. The only reason I can think of for a 7 month lead time is that turboblown (or whoever) doesn't have enough orders to fill a batch to get the target price he wants, which is a pretty weak reason for not taking care of this. 7 Months is enough time for me to prototype and get in production an entirely new product.

This was shipped a good week + ago, with tracking supplied to the customer. Also informed him to do whatever he likes with the old unit.

Thanks Elliot. I have received notification that the item has delivered. Unfortunately I am travelling for work at the moment and haven’t been home.
