I'm glad this is working out for you, and I'm equally as glad to see Turblown taking care of your problem in a professional manner. Good luck getting the car back on the road!
I'm patient to my own detriment. Turblow turblew it but Elliot is working to get it right now. This could have gone much much worse. The length of time was unacceptable and Elliot admitted as much. The car is back with me, the engine is together and it's now just going to be a break in and adjustments to get everything right.

yeah, it makes me confident he did it right and didn't slap it together. Still, the poor communication and constant pushing out of dates is not okay. This experience could have been great if the car was done in May as I anticipated or any of the later dates promised. The whole experience is soured. During our discussion, I said to Elliot "We're at this point now, let's do the best to make this a good experience from here." I mean that. Once you **** up and get to a place like this, you need to salvage it. There's no point to spending my day all irate over it as it then bleeds out to my work and relationships. Now, I'm not like most clients. I'm patient and understanding. When the sheriff showed up to serve him, there were two ways to go about it. He has chosen the high road which is more difficult because it requires you concede your errors and own up to it. Should anyone work with Turblown, ask the questions first and get it in writing and don't be afraid to ask if it's going to be a situation like this. Let's all hope this a change in the service given by Turblown, lest they may have trouble finding clients.

alright, so I am driving the FD as much as possible before it gets to cold. Engine starts strong hot and cold. The tune is currently kind of crap and get's off load lean conditions and some other tune related issues. overall though, the engine is strong and showing good vacuum. seeing close to -20 psi of vacuum at idle. so far its holding up well and the RX7 seems to be happy to be alive. I took it to the final Cars & Coffee of the year here in MN.

I'd liek to update everyone. I uncovered the FD, charged up the battery and added fresh fuel. It started up right away and is running just fine. Still needs a tune, but it appears Elliot has done good work at this point. I'll work on getting a tune set after I sort out a few wiring and electronic issues (my gauge cluster needs a recap). I'll keep everyone updated to the health of my FD. I've owned this thing for 20 years now and I am working to get it running right an looking good.

August Update

The engine is running fine with about 1600 mile son it now. running wastegate boost, so I am only getting around 6PSI usually. Need to get the Adaptronic tuned. New wiring harness in. Had no CAS signal and sketchy TPS with the new Rywire. slightly bent the corresponding Terminals on the adaptronic to get a solid connection from the wiring harness. Connection problem was at the ECU to harness plugs. FD is running and start well enough now, but needs a tune. Base Map for the S6 with DFI and FFE trigger idles beautiful, but gets a bit lean when cruising. I went back to break in Map elliot provided with the rev limit up to 8000 rpm and boost set to base map levels. Engine build appears solid, hot starts great, cold start great.

Adaptronic ECU may be the source of some pain, so considering going to a haltech. currently working with a friend to determine new intercooler config. Apeix Power intake plus stock IC is limiting raising boost do to IAT. Overall, good news though, the engine build itself is good, though I caught a few minor overlooked items with the help of RockinRotary during the re-install in the engine bay. Elliot appears to have done the build itself proper. I have had issues with some tuning shops not wanting to tune the engine due to the circumstances of the rebuild. Tune would have been done after going to a Haltech 1500, as Adaptronic tuner options are limited. I'll keep updating as the build develops.

Changing the ECU when you are this close doesn't seem wise. Adaptronic isn't that hard to learn. Don't mess with the timing and keep it plenty rich at high load until you are comfortable it's good. Make sure your target AFR map is what you want, do some long distance logging in closed loop mode (min 30 minutes of mixed driving), and load the log into MegaLogViewer. Using the Histogram tab, plot the MAPxTPS and view the Trim as the Z axis. This will show you how far off each cell is. Start by boosting cells that looks lean (positive trim levels), then work on cutting cells that are way too rich. After making some changes, get another 30 minute log in similar conditions (stick to the same time of day so ambient temps don't fluctuate too much). When you are comfortable, start upping the boost.

This was a funny read. Its like a girl friend cheated on you and you accepted her apology, kissed and made up. In a way both of you were at fault. You took this situation to the internet and it seems from the get go you could have simply went to the shop and shown your face and resolved it like civilized adults much earlier. You were also pretty much told you were a second class citizen because you did not come with a blank check; however, this was probably replied in anger because you dragged a well known reputable shop on the rx7 forum into a **** show.

Throwing threats of court papers and posting google map pics.. dragging other members emotionally into your situation coming to your defense only to reverse on them...

Now the ironic thing is a member told you the day you created this post to GO to the shop.. Many members told you to go. You didn't ship your car it wasn't on the opposite coast in Florida somewhere it was in your back yard.. as a customer you are also responsible to check-up on your ****. So you are partially to blame and I point this out because you appear to be a little cocky in your rant. You may be patient, but this doesn't allude your from being arrogant. I mean seriously.. can you imagine your son leaves his car at a shop just miles away and he tells you he hasn't even gone to the shop for months... you are passively telling the shop you are in no rush.. specially a busy shop. This was just lazy on your part.

Than the builder says he made zero profits building the engine. You twist his arm into a 2 year warranty and now you are going to slap a load of mods to the engine and hold him liable. You talk about a **** tune on a freshly built engine as well...(

) Jesus..

I can see this whole situation going sour if you or your tuner blows this motor.

I am not saying Turblown is right per se... but you proceed like you didn't F up as well.

Me and my wife are going to proceed to write a summons.... bruh 5 people told you to go to the shop
