Dr. Tweak - Lies to get your money, horrible customer service. Ripoff!

When I ordered the harness I was very specific about my needs, which he promised to deliver.

I paid for a 100% plug and play harness. What I got was a basic harness with some obvious mistakes. I had to spend many hours fixing his mistakes and wiring up AC, cruise, fans etc

If he wasn't capable of delivering the harness I wanted he should have just said so, instead he LIED and sent a half assed product!

He offered to "fix" the harness, this would require pulling the engine back out, pulling the intake manifold again, weeks of down time and probably still having problems when I got it back. If he couldn't do it right the first time, why could he do it right the second time...?!

I asked for a small partial refund (only $150!) and he ignored me after that. Thanks a lot, jerk!

This is from an email I sent to him. The harness was for a 1jz vvti into my FD rx7.

I received the harness in good shape and thought the overall appearance was nice. Unfortunately I'm having a few problems related to the harness.

The first problem was the wiring for the ECU to switch on the main relay. This wasn't done correctly as far as I can tell. There was no ignition source power wired to the ECU. This resulted in it not switching on the relay you had wired in. There actually wasn't even a pin at the correct location.

I went ahead and added this pin (pin #9 on 28pin connector), wired it up to a ignition switched source and it seems to operate properly with a CEL etc

The second problem is with the reverse lamp wiring. The harness was sent with the wrong connector. This wasn't a huge problem as I actually had the older style reverse switch that plugged in after I swapped it over. The lamps still don't work however, and I've verified it's not the switch by jumping the plug, still no reverse lamps. So this is another thing I'll need to fix it seems.

The third problem is with the AC. I asked it to be wired properly, (signal from AC amplifier to ECU, ECU out to ac compressor) There isn't even a wire in the pin location for AC signal from AMP to the ECU. Again looks like something I'll need to do.

Fourth problem / issue. Why was the Diagnostic connector under the hood removed? I didn't ask for this. I've got a $1000 obd1 scan tool I can't use on this car now. Jumping the plug you provided works to flash codes, but it's not nearly as good as using the scan tool. What if I want to watch sensor readings on my scope? I've got to back probe the sensors now. I don't understand why it would be removed.

With the basic simple problems I've already had to fix, and my requests on the harness seemingly ignored I'm pretty unhappy.

Extending a harness and wiring up a relay to power it isn't hard, even adding the signal converters isn't such a big deal for me. I've done a half dozen conversions like this before and it's all the little stuff I dislike. AC, cruise and other little issues I just wanted to not have to deal with this time. So I paid you good money to have a plug and play harness that I wouldn't have to spend hours figuring out.

I'm hoping for some explanation and that we can find a way to resolve this properly.

Hey everyone - this situation is on it's way to a proper result. I'm not sure if the thread prompted it or not, but Dr. Tweak is taking the correct action at this point to resolve the matter.

Why would the thread be deleted? They remain as a record of what occurred.

Glad it worked out in the end
