VA ***BNRPARTS*** High AMP Alternator EBAY

So as you can see below I paid $170.65 for this alternator shipped to me. So after eating a few batteries after doing some mods on my car that require more power like 30 AMP electric fan. I took alternator to a shop and low and below I am getting

*************************** 55 AMPS **********************************
SO i bought a stock alternator for an FC for a premium price advertised as 130 AMPS.

how are you testing the output? is that at idle or peak? high output alternators actually generally put out less amps at idle than stockers do.

so to power your e-fan, it's actually a step backwards with most of these "high output" alternators.

additionally, is your charge wire to the fuse box the same 20-30 year old smaller gauge wire? this does play a role as well.

not defending them but your post kind of lacks some details.

I took my car to BROWNING's custom Alternator and Starter in Virginia Beach, Va. This place has some great reviews. I also had word of mouth tell me about their experience there. I took my car to this place when I was having starter issues and they hooked me up as well. I pulled the alternator and they put in on their test bench and it read 55 AMPS. No guessing with this tester. Of course it will put out max power at a higher RPM, but that would be 55 AMPS max. The alternator works, however it is just not enough. I then decided to google BNRPARTS and wish I would have done it prior to buying a part from them. I saw bad review after bad review on them. I just hope to save someone else a headache. I mean hey I tried to do the right thing and upgrade my system way before I started all the other mods I did. I wanted to do things the right way so it was reliable. The fact is though 55 AMPS is pretty far off the mark from what I ordered from the shown below. I am glad I didn't buy the 160 AMP one like I was thinking. I was like 130 that should be more then enough... lol

that's a better description, you should file a claim with ebay about it to get your money back.

I don't know what to say when you have completed a transaction 2 years ago..and now find out it is not what was represented.
It totally blows.
Is this the same BNR that is doing the Turbo mods?

Sorry to hear about that. Eagle Auto Electric on ebay has some high output alternators and has pretty good customer service. Im running one of his 200amp alts on my FD and its been working great, no more dimming lights when my stereos bumping.

The one thing is that some of these HO alternators come with a pulley that is too large and you will need to swap a stock FD pulley onto the alternator in order for it to charge correctly

I agree 2 years nothing I can do. But I did message them on EBAY with no response. I told them about the situation and that I was going to post up what I learned about the products they are selling. Even though it has been 2 years it still was a dud 2 years ago too. I am not sure if they are affiliated with BNRSUPER sports or not myself. I did wonder about this also. I also am running a BNR stage 3 turbo as well. I am not sure if I can trust someone else off ebay again on alternators, but I am going to look up Eagle Auto Electric to see what they have out there. Thanks for posting the information.

THE SAD thing is they have 100% positive feedback on ebay.

they may have 100% feedback, but it's not really 100% as you said. a fair amount of common feedback in regard to inflated figures. seems they may just be reselling stock reman alternators and fudging the output numbers for sales and masking the feedback with good support and/or lying about their products when asked. seems a little too convenient that everyone sais these upgrades perform almost exactly as a stock alt would.

eBay Feedback Profile for bnrparts

oops, can't link directly to their feedback, but you can see the neutrals once in there. i never take a 100% score as golden.
