when to engage
 

I just installed the aem kit on my car and I was just wondering when most of you guys engage the water/meth injection. I can setup the system as early as 3 psi and as late as 11psi. Thanks for any info.

i'd start at 11

I first had mine set pretty low and it used at least 5 times more water. Now I have it set around 8 psi and the water lasts much longer.

I have the coolingmist setup that includes the varicontroller which allows you to increase the percentage of water injected as boost increases.

It is set to come on at 6psi boost, and supply 100% water at 13psi, which is full boost on my car.
It's only been used for autox so far, so I don't know how long the water will last during a track session.

I have the same kit and mine is set to come on at 3psi.

when do you have the pump running full speed?

If my engine was heat-soaked to, say 60 º C, I would set mine to 2 psi and boost lightly till temps come down to the 30’s.
It worked well so I installed an extra switch to fog in at low vacuum settings. I normally start spraying at 8 psi. (coolingmist / vari-cool )

it depends on the maximum amount of boost your going to run, say you want 100% duty at full boost and your full boost is 15psi, your going to want to set the meth to kick on at about 12 or 13 psi. the reason is there is a slight delay until your actually spraying, there is no need to even run meth below 5psi all your going to do is bog down the engine and lose power unless you take alot of fuel out on your maps, it just isn't necessary to start the meth at that low of boost

The AEM kit is progessive.

i know its progessive but you can still control when to run the pump ar full speed

Mine is at 15PSI.

I run a basic coolingmist kit. Turn on at 5psi, 250cc jet. After a 15minute lapping session Ill use about 1L of water maybe a little less

Do you have detail info on your "fogger" switch?

Sorry I missed this earlier.

The pump runs by finding a ground. I put a switch under the dash close to your right knee in the heater diffuser. A spring loaded button would work well also.
