i removed the plastic OEM cover so you can see the pump. i really like the location and having the battery in the pass side compartment allows a short wire to the pump.

note how nicely the line proceeds forward, snapping into the OEM fuel line brackets.

the 4 gallon fuel cell doesn't seem to take over the trunk area.

awesome info howard coleman! thanks for sharing your pictures. I had to re-read your other thread 2-3 times to get it in my head how you were mounting the pump...then I get to the bottom and find this thread, d'oh.

what is the max psi the pump outputs?

when you say splice into the 3 bar MAP sensor for the controller...are you talking wire splice or plumbing splice?

Lastly...a real racer with cruise control??? you know that thing weighs about 2.5 lbs :D

Howard Coleman 11-04-06 07:03 PM

dubulup,

i don't know what the pump puts out. call Julio and i am sure he can answer your question. the connection w the 3 bar is electrical.

How is the low level system wired in? I read you have that but just wondering what you used. Thanks

Howard Coleman 06-17-07 08:03 PM

the low level sensor is a GM product and is used w a bright red LED. it came w the kit. i run a 4 gallon fuel cell and do keep my eye on it.

I've been looking at Alky Control after someone turned me onto their state of the art system. When you ordered did you get a generic kit or did they alter some details for you. If you have a part number I would appreciate it. I'm going to be adding this kit to my 42r so I'm sure I'll be in the 500 AI club. Thank you for the pictures!

Howard Coleman 03-31-08 09:08 PM

i recently sold my Alkycontrol system after using it for 2 seasons. it worked and works perfectly. 33 2000-8000 4th gear dyno runs as well as 7000 miles of street stuff. alcohol comes on to the tenth of a psi.

Julio Don is the go to guy. definitely call him and discuss your needs.

i recommend two M10 nozzles. he sends you the components, you measure the lines lengths and he makes them up for you.

i run my battery in the compartment behind the pass seat. if you do... you want to locate the pump controller and one of the adj modules in the compartment.

if you decide to do this... you need to tell Julio and provide him w some measurements. he will then send you the proper lengthed electrical wires. i didn't and had to extend 6 wires, some shielded.

you will love alcohol:)

Thanks Howard! Why did you sell the kit? Would you recommend a better kit? I'm not familiar with the "M" nozzles they use. I've installed many Snow Performance kits on customers cars, yet I have not had any use in the use of them. Snow performance gives you direct ml nozzles. What sizes do they use and what are they called in the Alky Control kits?

I just thought of a neat idea tonight when I received my Xcessive LIM. The primary ports in the manifold I was going to block off but I just thought now that I could possibly put the Methanol injectors into those ports. Good idea? If there's only question of sealing I can take care of that as I have access to people that can machine me anything I need.

I'm looking to be just shy of 700whp with my setup. Do you think my 1680's and 850's combined with the Methanol will be enough for my goals? I was going to put some 1000cc primaries in in case I decided down the road to just run strait c16. I'm pretty sure last time I plotted it out the 850's will keep me in my goals (surely for pump fuel). LMK any input, advice, or comments to my setup. I was actually going to pm you about the dual egt kit you made up for yourself. I've got those bungs on the manifold for a reason! Maybe I'll be pming you anway...

i have a sticky thread re nozzle sizes and delivery in this section.

an M10 delivers 630 CC/Min. i ran two M10s w my previous setup.

if you check out a thread about my new FJO system it will answer some of your questions along w pictures and the difference between the two systems.

as to location.... i had a lengthy discussion w a friend who runs an NHRA RX3. he runs it on 100% methanol and put down 986 rwhp from his 2 rotor last year w more hopefully on the way this year. (he ran 7.52 last yr) everything he has shared w me has be on the money. we were discussing nozzle location w methanol.

i can't tell you all the specifics but i can tell you that you do not want to spay/inject meth too close to the chamber. you can spray some approx 6 -8 inches away but it works best further upstream so it can "flash" w the incoming oxygen/charge air.

check out where i put my injectors in the thread.

850s and 1680s will do it no problem as you will be cutting duty cycle about 10-15% and replacing it w meth.

i run the same injectors with two Garrett TO4s that make about 84 pounds per minute of air so i am aiming for 630 rwhp at 23 psi. i should be back on the dyno in about 2 weeks.

Howard:

First of all, thanks for all your insights on AI. I just ordered the Coolingmist HSV trunk-mout kit and am planning to finally run AI, albeit water only - at least initially.

I like the way you installed the nozzles in the silicone coupler, but I have a few questions:
1) How did you secure the nozzles so that the coupler does not tear under high boost?
2) What is the exact position of your nozzles? (In the photo they seem to be at 1:30 and 10:30)
3) Are you planning to usre a similar location for your new FJO setup? If not why?

Thanks,
Hoon.

Howard Coleman 06-03-08 09:01 PM

the alkycontrol nozzles have a washer/nut that secures them. no tearing or any problems.

3 and 6 oclock biases against the elbow turn and toward secondaries

see the pict of my FJO install on the thread.

good luck,

howard

mono4lamar 06-03-08 11:23 PM

Where's the best place to get the FJO parts? I've only seen sites that sell pieces to make a kit and they also lack prices... Not cool. LMK where I can order a complete kit or a company that has prices. Thanks!

ill be installing this on my car soon after i talk to them on making my order. Will be seeing you soon howard

HDP 07-17-09 01:04 AM

Howard, where did you ground your pump?

Howard Coleman 07-19-09 08:59 AM

my pump ground is at the neg terminal of my battery which is nearby in the pass side rear compartment.

HDP 07-21-09 11:42 AM

I mounted my pump in the same location as yours but my battery is in the stock location. Should the pump be ground near the mounting location or run it to the negative battery terminal?

Howard Coleman 07-21-09 12:04 PM

ground is fine near the pump as long as it is well installed

rotorooter93fd 10-13-09 02:28 PM

Howard, why did you decide to sell your alky control system? what made you want to go FJO instead?

dradon03 02-14-10 09:14 PM

Bringing this back from the dead. I look at that fuel cell Jaz correct? and it only has two fittings you said your has 4 maybe the model number is different?

Also, I am curious to see Howard what your setup looks like now with the FJO equipment. What size are the fittings going to the pump?

Howard Coleman 02-22-10 02:55 PM

"fuel cell Jaz correct? and it only has two fittings you said your has 4 maybe the model number is different?"

initially my Jaz cell, w the Alky control setup had an outflow (to the pump) fitting, a breather at the top and that was it...

the FJO would work w those fittings as long as you are running water or a water meth mix.

in order to run 100% meth a pressure regulator and return line are needed so the meth will not turn to vapor and create pressure/deliverability problems.

it wasn't a big deal to plumb. i used a Weldon press reg as it is meth resistant and switched to a Bosch pump. a 044 varient, the 909. all is working well and i will be doing extensive dynoing w a new turbo setup in late March 2010.

dradon03 03-01-10 08:56 PM

Thank you for the response I have the intention of running a 50/50 mix at maximum and experimenting with pure water.

The system will be FJO w 600cc.

cewrx7r1 08-25-10 11:07 PM

I noticed that one of these pictures must have been taken before you finished your system.
I see what looks like an air temp sensor in the IC pipe before the AI injectors in the turbo hose.

My current AITS is located in the IC outlet of my FMIC. Since planning to install an AI system soon, my AITS will have to be moved downstream of my injection area.

MaD^94Rx7 01-19-11 08:10 AM

Guys I'm a bit confused about 1 thing. I have a PFC and wanted to make sure where I should install the temp sensor. Should I have it PRE AI like Howard or POST AI?
