Oil change frequency with WI
Was thinking about this after my decarboning procedure on the weekend. After running so much water through at one time, I always change the oil due to the likelihood of water contamination. Does this same contamination occur with modern water injection? Should oil changes be more frequent as a result?

Frequency of oil changes and oil used in rotary engines is something not very much examined, lot of opinions, no proof, so hardly to tell what you should do. But WI on its own shouldn´t cause what concerns you. |
IF you are using distilled water, not reverse osmosis or anything else, you shouldn't have much to worry about. If you do, you can do a used oil analysis, or UOA, and see what is in the oil. CHeck this thread out to see what can happen, but understand that lotsofmiles drives lots of miles with the system running almost 100% of the time, enough to melt a Snow MPG-MAX controller.
