Nozzle Install Location Question
 
Is it alright to install the water injection nozzle opposite to the air temp sensor?

That's not an ideal location, why would you do that? You can either spray well before it or after it, some will debate either location and why it's better, I've done both and now have the air temp sensor back in the stock location and spraying pre turbo and into the greddy elbow.

the reason is cuz the ic piping is too thin for me to tap/thread whereas the elbow has some meat.

The IC piping shouldn't be too thin, well it wasn't too thin for me, in the recent past I had my nozzle tapped into the IC pipe right after the fmic outlet for a while, no problems, and others have done the same.

I would suggest putting in a fast reacting ait sensor back in the stock location and putting the water nozzle in your elbow.

I'm sure you'll be fine, I have one in my intake before the turbo and it's thin piping, use teflon tape too.

sure. close as possible to the IC outlet. put it in your IC pipe so that the water line can go to it the best way possible, obviously haha

^For water, yes IMO post IC/pre-throttle body would be fine. Water does most of it's cooling inside the engine. This is where mine is at for WI, but after the IAT which I relocated just in front of the nozzle.

Methanol is better at cooling the intake air, so if your running a mix you might want to introduce it more upstream to give it time to do that.

Ya I'm only using it for safety purposes only, so would you recommend before the IC since I want the coldest A/Ts? Also I am running a v-mount idk if that affects it more or less from a front mount

Again, methanol helps absorb heat from the intake air (cool IATs). So if you're running a mix and can mount it farther upstream it would give it more contact time with the intake air to do that... and be more effective.
If you're mostly running just water, most of it's effect will be in the combustion chamber. Not as much effect on the IATs, so a nozzle location closer to the throttle-body is fine.

I spray about 1/3 water/meth into the turbo and the other 2/3 into the IC outlet with my fast reacting ATS in my Greddy elbow. Works fine and you can see/record the air temps dropping when spraying.

With only water there isn't any real cooling of the air so ATS location isn't as important.

When the IC piping is too thin you need to have a Bung welded on to support the nozzle.
