Posted this on a related link but got no answer.

Question. What do you guys think of this controller?

Is there a current list of available methanol injection kits?

What would work best with a Haltech E6K?

Thanks,
Ian

What about this kit , http://www.fjoracing.com/products/waterinjection/ ?.

LOL. For some reason I had another link copied into this thread. (Was reading it as I was making this post) Thanks Marcel.

That was the kit I was looking at. (Seems expensive though) I intend to run AI eventually. I'm looking for a little more safety and to be able to push more power eventually.

I don't know anybody down here that will be running AI other then "nik" and the only supporting shop is can-jam in toronto so I would like to be carefull in my selection of controllers. I don't think the e6k is very suited to run with AI. There are other ems out there that can sense you run out of "methanol" and automatically switch maps for you!

Also I would like to know what you guys are going to do or how you rigged the system up for when you run out of AI? How do you get the maps changed etc? I'm running the E6K and I gather if I run out of AI it will not be a good thing. I guess I will need to carry the laptop and two maps were ever I go.

re the FJO AI system...

controller $346
nozzles (400-1200 cc/min) $127
pump $106
lines $96
filter $75

total $750. (canadian co, pretty sure the $ are U S)

most systems w progressive controllers generally are priced around $500. i note they mention "black" lines... probably not aeroquip which are necessary for methanol, and should be provided at that price IMO.

IAN asks the key question:

what if my right foot is on the floor and i run out of alcohol or the pump fuse blows or...

probably the motor will be unhappy and it is hello cherry picker.

as i considered the same question i concluded that foremost as to vendors i wanted experience, 'no time for beta testing. no time for malfunctions.

in addition to finding an experienced vendor, you can go for more Dr Strangelove/Doomsday protection options...

Snowperformance and Aquamist offer flow dectection... no flow, a signal trigger is available to shut off your boost controller, your ignition or your radio/whatever.

i run a J&S Knock Detector and ignition retarder. serious knock and the next rotor face finds 10 degrees of ignition retard.

other helps to avoid disaster are running a decent sized cell... 4 gallons works for me and a low alcohol level LED.

you do budget a bit of time keeping an eye on things but the upside is:

you get to run 25 psi on the street v 14 psi
