Better to control with ECU or WI controller?

Hi guys,

I have an Adaptronic modular ecu and would like to install WI. Im looking at the stage 3 Snow Performance kit currently (my tuner recommends this kit, but im open to opinions definitely), but Im wondering if i control the WI via the Adaptronic rather than the snow performance 2D digital controller, will it be just as effective?
Will there be any pros/cons of either?

The stage 3 is almost double the price of the stage 1 and 2 kits due to the controller, so if the ecu will do just as good a job then i wont need to spend the extra money...

Cheers guys

I greatly prefer controlling water meth with the ECU. The #1 reason being that it will show up in your data logs so you know exactly what it's doing. You also have much more control than with standard on/off or the progressive controllers that have start/full knobs.
You do need to make sure that the ECU can control a water meth pump, both in the software and hardware. Most ECUs can't handle the current load of a water meth pump directly, so you'll have to use a solid state relay. The Megasquirt I used only had 2 output drivers suitable for the 10A+ that the pumps draw. I also had an AEM Water Meth flow gauge that I tee'd into the ECU and was able to monitor both commanded pump duty cycle and actual pump flow.

All informative topics, I do not think either threads were ever completed, but I believe Turblown used to sell a kit that was designed/advertised for the Adaptronic (Can't find it now).

That is some helpful information thanks guys.
Does the turbosource water injection kit include the solid state relay?

100% with ecu.

Can drop boost target with digital input for failsafe and use a full 3d table to control injection with a solenoid.

I'm just using a simple output to trigger a relay ground to kick on the meth pump. Works great. Triggering it at 3psi ealier than the target boost pressure. You can get complicated with solenoid or PWM etc, but seems easy enough to just spray 1 fixed amount, and subtract out a little fuel from the map while meth is active. Have a second table, like nitrous compensation or whatever. Use a pressure sensor or flow gauge to enable the compensation table / disable it if you wanna get fancy
