question about the Hall sensors.
Could anyone tell me which pins on the hall sensors that is positve and negative?
this is on a FD engine. |
Pretty sure the FD ones are VR not hall - only two wire from memory. Depending on which ecu is used, might need the reluctor interface.

Yes, of course. Don`t know what I was thinking.. But they are magnetic, so It shouldnt matter wich of the pins I use on + and - right? |
Far from an EE..., expect you'd have minor ignition timing differences based on rising or falling wave with polarity swaps.
I'd say follow Mazda practice, sorry about the size. http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/6497/picture860.jpg FWIW, Aubert did have massive problems in the early days with the magnetic sensors....if you're using an old ECU - Toyotas in particular - hence the passion for Honeywell Hall effects. |
Thanx..
Yes Ive seen that.. But I was just going to check..:) The ecu is an Sm4 with the new software 1.09 if I`m not wrong. |
Trigger on SM4 is the falling side for magnetic sensors.
Think there are better information sources than this poor sap out there....average one installation about every 3 or 4 years! The semi-official forum is not too far from your location, if I'm not mistaken. |
