Question 20B Turbo in Australia

So I have a few questions and looking to see if any one else has gone through this process yet. I have a series 4 1988 RX7 lined up to purchase, It is currently granny spec and 180,000km on the clock.

I just wanted to know;
  • What is the best place to go to in Australia to have a 20b Turbo built (Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne)?
  • Around what price am I looking at for the work to be complete?
  • Is there anything ill need to aquire before jumping into this build apart from the car?
  • How long would the build portion take?
  • What is the full process start to finish?

You could easily eat 60k on that more if you wanted. It really depends on how far you go with support systems and engine build. Just getting all the engine bits together for a 20b is big money these days. There are a few workshops turning out decent cars, probably worth having at look at posts from locals in the Rotary enthusiast international Facebook group. Not sure about Canberra but there would be half a dozen in Sydney that I wouldn’t have a problem giving a car.

Yeah fair enough thanks for the information, Ill defiantly hit up the group and ask around at a few places in Sydney. Still seems so much cheaper to build a series 4 the way I want it then buying a FD at the moment prices are just sky rocketing.
