Looking for wiring diagrams for series 6 FD (01-02)
If anyone has access to these wiring diagrams I would be very interested in having you copy a few pages for me (I'd be happy to pay for the info)... I'm looking for the pages that relate to the series 6 ABS units, as I have one here that I want to install but have no clue where to start.
Thanks, Heath |
Have you tried the library on fdrx7.com?

Hwnd, sometime last year was looking into buying complete electrical/mechanical/body manuals for all series, there was a few thousand involved in purchasing them from memory. |

Hmmm...
08/1993 would still be the series 6 wouldn't it? (didn't the S6 start in 1992?...i'm not sure) And it's the Mazda Australia (bottom RH corner of cover) version, so it would be in english. |
Guess it's all the confusion regarding Oz and Japanese terminology and S6/version 6.
In aussie, it's a S8.....although there's never been differentiation between early and late cars in that descriptor. I've got saved on another drive somewhere, the ad for the complete series of wiring diagrams being offered on Yahoo in CD format. Also, come across old hard copy manuals, being offered a couple of years back.....not sure which years now. If I'm remembering correctly, daioni, provided the search term to save going through multiple pages to solve my particular ABS dilemma and they were included in the search. Without putting him in the poop, Sim was saying elsewhere, he was going to get a translation of the Jap diagrams....so assume he put in a request to one of the far eastern vendors. |
Any update about the wiring for s6 - s8 model?
Why it is so hard to find this schematics? Anyone who knows were I can buy it original? |
^yeah I'll happily pay for an ABS pinout.... I'm just sitting on the new unit but cant install it cause I have no clue what the 30 wires go to

You should ask for a "Series 8" wiring diagram, as technically a year 2000 onward FD3S is a Series 8, in Australia/Japan.
FD world production: Series 6: 1992 to 1995. Series 7: 1996 to 1998. Series 8: 1999 to 2002. What you have is the ABS out of a Series 8 (probably JDM) vehicle. Control systems changed from 8-bit engine ECU to 16-bit in 1996, all the way up to 2002. ABS units also developed more processing power and changed from 8-bit to 16-bit. Hence you've got some extra spaghetti there. Also worth noting is that the early 8-bit cars (up to 1996) use a single ABS sensor channel for both rear wheels, and one channel for each front wheel. Hence the ABS in cars up to 1996, is a 3-channel feedback system. Post-1996, I think they went to a more complex 4 channel ABS system, where both rear wheel speed sensors had their own channel. This might be challenging if you want to retrofit a late model 4 channel ABS unit into an early car that originally uses 3 channel wheel speed ABS. Just, you know, FYI in case someone searches the topic in future :) |
has anyone come up with the s8 manuals for abs as of yet?

Long time reader, first time commenter.. looks like another member posted a drop box link for JDM service manuals. I'll link the thread here

I saw a guy named Travis sherwood posting on the rx7 Facebook group showing he can help with this.
