Stock 850cc injectors E85 safe?

I have been running stock 850cc side feed injectors as primaries and ev14s as secondaries with e85. It's my understanding that the internals of ev14 2200s can rust and stick if they sit due to the alcohol absorbing water.

I have not had an issue yet but the car has been sitting all winter and now I am getting it ready for this season so I am going to send them in to be ultra sonic cleaned and flow matched to make sure they are good to go for the year and hopefully I won't have problems if I run the car often enough.

I am aware of the new injectors that are e85 compatible but I would like to work with what I have if I can.

My question is does anyone know what the internals of the 850cc STOCK secondaries are and if they would have the same issues with e85 that 2200 ev14s do?

I just had the 850s cleaned and flow matched in the fall and only want to do it again if necessary.

X2
I have been running the 850s for 2 years now and wonder if I will have issues as well.

I believe this is from e10 siting for some time exposed to the elements

I too would like to know if the stock 850cc injectors are safe to use with e85. Has anyone else used them for a decent period of time? If so, what are you findings?

Will e85 effect the orings at all?

I had them cleaned last year after sitting for the winter and the 2200s and the 850s were fine. Basically I spent the money just to know that they are clean and flowing as they should which they already were. Now after sitting another winter I am planning to do the same...

Wow great. So how long have you been running the 850s with e85? How many kms would you say you have done with them?

Just had my injectors tested and cleaned again and after sitting all winter they were flowing fine and the cleaning was unnecessary. At least I know.

Thats good news! So how long have you been using e85 with them?

Not much. Over 6000 miles and two winters of sitting.

Every injector, with the exception of the ID1300, ID1700, and the stainless injectors Deatschwerks offers, have ferrous metal internals that will rust if exposed to moisture and allowed to oxidize. The stainless injectors are the only ones impervious to this issue.
