Going E85, have some questions

well guys i decided to go the E85 route. Couple questions, the car now has the Deatschwerks internal pump thats rated at 300+ lph. Do I still need 2 bosch 044's or just a single one is enough? Im also installing a surge that integrates the bosch 044. Im also running 2 ID2000's on the primary and 2 siemens deka 2000 on the secondary rails. Im hoping my GT4088r will put out 550 rwhp on this E85. any input will be appreciated. thanks

So you plan on running the one pump in tank and the Bosch inline in a surge tank? If you wire the Bosch directly and provided it with 14+ volts it should be pretty close to providing enough flow for that horsepower level. What will be your baseline pressure you plan on setting up your fuel system? You have enough injector to get you to your horsepower goal.

I'm going to run a single internal Fuelab 42402 pump. It should be enough flow for whatever fuel or horsepower goals I may have now or in the future.

I would ditch the Deatschwerks pump, if their pumps suck as bad as their injectors it's going to screw you. 044s are proven reliable, I'm running 2 044s at 500whp. Everyone seems to have a different opinion on wether one will get you to 500 or not.

are you running any intank pump or your 044's submerged inside the your tank

Another option would be a Fuelab pump. They are small enough to be run in tank and have an integrated speed control which interfaces well with a Haltech or AEM PWM output. That's what I'm currently running in a 1000 hp format . Should cost less than 2 044's as well.

whoops missed glassmans response on a Fuelab pump

hmm interesting. I didnt know that the Fuelab pumps could be submerged

I cut and dumped the bottom of my tank. Pumps are mounted on the crossmember behind the diff.

Im hoping i could still tune the car with the Power FC

According to Steve Kan, id 2000s don't work very well in the primary position with the pfc.

According to Injector Dynamics they don't work with a PFC.
They are however the best injector out there, bar none.

sqml 06-03-11 10:56 PM

when you guys said the ID2000 doesnt work, does that mean, the car wont idle or just completely not usable?

RXTASY57 06-04-11 07:16 AM

Won't idle. The PFC doesn't have the ability to fine tune injectors.
To get 2000cc injectors to idle is miraculous.

Railgun 06-04-11 12:28 PM

So, those that would run the 2000s, what LIM are you guys using? Why not swap over to a GZ LIM and problem solved, you have two more holes for more injectors. Run 2000s in the secondary spot and your need to fine tune for idle conditions goes away. That's my plan...run 1000s as now as primaries and either swap one set of 1000 secondaries for 2000s or both sets.

Just break down and buy a better EMS.

Thats what I did 900cc fic primary, 4 2150cc fic secondary on an aem.

the_glass_man 06-04-11 06:26 PM

I'm going to try ID1000's in the primaries and ID2000's in the secondaries with my setup. I've got a PFC and the GZ LIM. I'm going to run a pretty high base pressure so I should be able to get away with that injector setup. I just need to get my pump and rail configuration squared away and find the time to put everything together.

Bringing this back up I would like to hear from " the glass man" and "fritts" on how they like the pumps.

I got pump in tank to feed surge tank with dual 044 that going feed four ID2000 on secondary with two 1000 primary. E85 and going for 550-640ish.

I plan on running very close setup except switching the id 2000 for the 4 1600 cc Bosch injectors I already have with my previous setup.

This is the set up I'm running. Works very well. All the fuel I need and never have to worry about the fuel level in the tank.
