First tune on e85. 505rwhp@15.6psi
OK!
tonight we filled her up with the good stuff :icon_tup: at full load my inj duty was at 80% (4x1680 + 2x893) Only boosted 15.6psi today, tomorrow we hopefully will go for more :) http://www.molnsatra.se/bil/e85.JPG Interesting to compare to the v-power tune (17.4psi) http://www.molnsatra.se/bil/Vpower.JPG power gain from e85 compared to v-power at same psi 55rwhp. |
ok that's it. the single turbo i'm working on right now was going to be for 93 octane. but we got lots of E85 around here in indiana.. so i think i'm gonna plan for a single summer time e85 tune. i don't care if it takes more injector, or if it's a big political scam, or if i have to put extra premix in the tank.
race gas for less than premium at the pump is really damn appealing. |
See, this is the shit I'm talking about son.
This is all the proof you knuckleheads need. |
Hmm the more I see this e85 crap the more it seems like a good idea. Im about 2 miles from a e85 station. Problem is, I run 550 primaries, 1600 sec's on a 60-1. Think I would need to upgrade? AWESOME NUMBERS!
|
Yes, you would need a fuel upgrade depending on how much power you want.
|
look at the torque curves... the e85 torque curve is more linear and keeps rising even at fuel shut off compared to the gas torque curve which starts to fall off before fuel cut off.
this could be strictly because of e85 being on lower psi than gas. the e85 peak power is only 6 hp more than the 99 v power gas but there is so much more "area-under-the-curve" on the e85 power curve. |
well i made 320hp/270tq at 14psi at 6k, couldnt tune above because at the time the wastegate was acting up. I run braided lines, Ive checked out the other e85 threads, do any of the lines need upgraded? I run a walbro pump as well. Only looking for about 400 with this turbo setup at the moment

Get you another pump and swap those stock injectors for some 1680 primaries. |

Seems like you need to rev it a little higher.:) Your injector duty cycle is pretty high for the boost/power/rpm you're at. Probably you should look into the fuel supply before you push it any further. |

Probably you should look into the fuel supply before you push it any further. The duty is increasing very slowly, but i might have to exchange the 2 primaries to 1600cc aswell.. it is soooo thirsty, never had this much alcohol on one day   at 500rwhp on gas i was at 82% with 2x890 + 2x1680, maybe i will have to increase the fuel pressure.. got 42psi ground pressure now. |
no more dyno this time, something is wrong with the rototest..
need to look over a fuel leak and my ignition anyway, the hks twinpower is making the job so far but i don't know how far i dare to push it.. Any recommendations? msd6al t2 coil? jacobs? |
are some numbers missing? isn't the torque line following a different, lower set of numbers as opposed to those on the left? the hp and torque aren't crossing at 5252 RPMs...?
still, great numbers. and best of luck with the e85. i'm curious as to how much impact it has on emissions. |
Some advice on ignition would help us swedes a lot! :D Been searching my *ss off for a ignition setup good for 600+ whp on e85. And be compatible with PFC.
|
So, you did 379 whp @ 15 psi with 95 octane. Then, switch to E85 and picked up 126 whp.

Sweet My car made 448rwhp @ 15psi. But still, 57rwhp! this is the 1bar run on vpower http://www.molnsatra.se/bil/vpower1bar.JPG 1bar runt on e85 (remember, same setup, nothing is changed!) http://www.molnsatra.se/bil/e85.JPG 3000rpm vpower = 211nm 92whp 3000rpm e85 = 231nm 104whp 5000rpm vpower = 302nm 218whp 5000rpm e85 = 371nm 267whp 7000rpm vpower = 376nm 379whp 7000rpm e85 = 456nm 460whp :shocking: 7300rpm vpower = 424nm 442hp 7300rpm e85 = 471nm 493whp sick! :icon_tup: :icon_tup: :icon_tup: |
no one answered my question, but i believe i found the answer. and others may find the conversion useful:
1 ft-lb = 1.356 N-m 1 N-m = 0.738 ft-lb 1 ft-lb = 12 in-lbs 1 N-m = 100 N-cm nice test and numbers by the way. |

Well, figure out what duty cycle you would be at with 400 whp on Pump Gas with your current fuel setup. Say, you're at 80 %. What would that duty cycle do if you richened the map up by 30%.
Get you another pump and swap those stock injectors for some 1680 primaries. |

Great numbers.
A couple quick questions. What is you timing at for 15psi? what plugs are you using? I've just finished up upgrading my fuel system for e85. 3x1680 pri. / 3x2200 sec. 2x 044 boschs & 1x Apex r33 fuel pumps all in tank. I should be able to start it up next time I am home in 2 weeks. |

My timing at 15psi is 16 to 17dgrs, which seems to be to much since im seeing some knock (40-50's) on the street so will be retarding it a couple of degrees. At the dyno i was using b10egv. Tonight i put another pair of 1680's in the primary position resulting in 6x1680cc injectors. good luck, keep us posted IronMdnX! |
timinh
when u mean15-16 degress u mean what exactly btdc on leading ? what about the trailing? sorry if i seem comfuse but timing always been hard for me
thanks julio |

when are you going back to the dyno ? |

Just ordered a fjo peak and hold unit for my injectors to get rid of the resistors, i think im going for the jacobs fc3000 aswell.. havn't made up my mind yet. :)
dyno hopefully in a couple of weeks.. |
