Which are the best ethanol compatible injectors?

Hi guys, just wondering what some of the best options for e85 injectors around the 2000cc range currently.

Thanks

everyone is going to tell you Bosch ASNU 1650cc injectors which have stainless internals.

But do you own research, Injector Dynamics is the big name brand for injectors.

Yeah I have and have read a lot about the IDs clogging up from ethanol or ethanol + premix... im not sure if this problem has been fixed. Thats why I thought Id start the thread as I want to upgrade my fuel system very soon and want to pick the right ones.

the ID 1300, and Id 1700, where released after the id1000s and is2000s,
as E85 injectors.. the 1300 and 1700 have stainless steel internals. while others have worked for years, its clear you could leave e85 in the fuel system without worried about rusting the injectors... as far as clogging goes, i would like to hear more about that.

I believe the clogging stems from the e85 cleaning out the fuel system, which loosens up a bunch of crap that's been in your tank for years. Any injector is going to clog when this crap lets loose, so it's suggested to clean your pre and main filters shortly after switching to e85.

What do you guys think about the Bosch 2200 ev14s?

You asked for the best? ID1700x or ID2000 are your only options. Why you would consider going with a less accurate injector is beyond me. Can you idle on a standard Bosch 1650 and hold AFRs, regardless of voltage or temperature? Totally doubt it. Can you with a larger ID2000? You bet!

You get what you pay for.

So the Boschs are less accurate basically because they haven't been flow matched is that what you mean?

That's like saying that coilover set A and coilover set B have the exact same shim stacks, but set A is all green and set B is colored red, green, blue, and yellow. Oh, and yea, they should operate the same.

The internals of the ID Injectors differ from Bosch....they aren't just "matched" for flow and response characteristics.

Well IDs are Bosch injectors which ID flow match and balance. What internals are different???

They might be "Bosch" bodies, but let me assure you, they are not Bosch components. Have you seen the amount of development put into these injectors? It's absolutely incredible...

Again, you asked for the best. Not "what injector kinda, sorta works for e85 for a few years and will help me make power?"

That might be true of the 1300/1700 with stainless internals (maybe), buT ID1000/2000 are OEM Bosch that they pair by flow and latency into batches of 2/4/6/8, ect. Check out this video with Paul Yaw

no issues with the "incompatible" ID2000s/1000's here. I just start teh car at least 2x per month. Even pulled the injectors and had them flow tested after sitting for 2 months over winter. No change, no rust. Not sure why so many people have issues

Correct, you're paying for higher QC standards and a stamp of approval. I personally think that's worth it, others dont.

I seem to remember hearing a rumor that a single spring or some other similarly small component in some of the ID2000s either werent stainless or were of a lesser grade and a few folks were having issues so I'd agree, id2000s are E85 compatible for my personal projects :P
