Series II vs ems-4
Ok guys im at the point in my build i need an ecu. What are your guys opinions on both of these units, the series II and the new ems-4. I know the price difference i just want to hear opinions.

They have the same software. Internally they do the same thing. The difference is in outputs. The EMS-4 only has 4 injectors, 4 Coils and a handful of spare inputs and outputs. The Series II has up to 12 injectors putputs, up to 12 coil drivers, 12 Low side outputs, 4 EGT inputs, 2 Wideband inputs, 2 Knock inputs, has the ability to drive an OMP.
Your needs will dictate which ecu you will need. What is your setup and what are you looking to do? EB Turbo |
Right now it's just a streetported 13b with a 35r. I'm looking to make between 400-450whp
|
What options are you interested in using?
OMP Fuel trim Trim trim Boost trim Boost hi-low Idle control Boost control Air conditioning 2 step rev limit Flex fuel control extra injectors Extra coils EGT sensors Fuel p, oil p, oil t, E MAP, Fan control Fuel pump control Or do you just want bare bones to run the engine? EB Turbo |
I'm pretty much looking for everything up there minus the air conditioning. I don't really need the more than 4 injectors or coils. I heard the ems-4 can't control the omp is there anyway around that
|
You would have to run the stock ecu in parallel with the EMS4 to retain OMP. By that time you will almost add the price difference between the EMS4 and the Series II. Sounds like you need a Series II. Do you still have the stock wiring harness?

I dont have the engine harness i am looking for one though. So what you're saying is itd be just easier to run a series II than figure a way to run an ems-4
|
For what you want to do you need a series II. What kind of engine harness are you looking for?

I was thinking I could get a patch harness made to make it work
