I left the wasgate 100% open without a spring

I fix the wastegate problem , i just install one 60mm Tial , best option to be fair.

just finish installing my gt3586HTA t4 1.06
is quite rich all the range till 7300rpm that goes to a/f 11.1 and is seems kind of choque
probably cause im just working at 7psi

some bugs at 4500 at 50% throttle

dirvelity under 4500 rpms is excelent even when i need to clean the map cause it need more advance ing and be more lean.

here is my map.

The fuel map does not have the fueling required to run much higher than 8-9psi. The map does not add any more fuel nor does it have any boost compensation.

Tuning with speed density will usually require you to run some type of throttle compensation to get the part throttle tuning better.

What MAP sensor are you running?

Its not the correct MAP sensor calibration. It reads too high. You can select the OEM sensor from the wizard. What does it read when the engine is off? It should be 0psi +\-0.2 psi.

EB Turbo

rexset 10-21-13 11:05 AM

I calibrate it starting with the cal wizard
But i notice that when i stop the engine it reads -1 psi
So i change the sensor for another OEM and it was the same

rexset 10-21-13 11:31 AM

I have an 3 bar haltek sensor too
But my goal is never work with more than 15 psi on my car so the oem should be fine

rexset 11-02-13 12:17 PM

Its normal that at 7psi at more than 7000rpms you have to take lots of fuel?
Why that happens?

Take out fuel? or add fuel?

Take out Till 7000 its ok , till 7500 rpms is slow , and till 8000 is really slow cause it got more rich So i have been taking out lot of fuel from 7000 rpms

Right I'm back, A lot has changed in the time i've been away (New house et al) kinda put the old girl on the back burner! I'm now getting back round to doing what should have been done over year ago!

Coil Dwell has now been set using the AEM pro wizard, Air temp tables have been tweaked a little bit to closer match the AEM provided cal.
Idle solenoid has been set to 244hz rather than 488 (FSM stated 244, seems to have made it a little more quiet.)

Took the car out for a run and she runs great, little bit too much fuel at the top end of the range on part throttle wich is no problem.

Next thing I'd like to get working im not even sure if its worth the hassle!

VSS - (for logging) and for boost control at lower speeds. I think I may benefit from being able to limit it to the waste gates spring (7.5psi) to aid traction. Or am I just being a typical engineering brit and over thinking the whole issue! Aka just use less loudpedal

Also a big thanks to EB Turbo for help in the past. Know its very late but you've been a leg!

doghouse 05-20-14 08:46 AM

I am planning to install my evo 8 30-1313u aem on my 13brew. Both uses the same ecu plugs so I guess my next step is to change the pins

Leonh 05-23-14 04:46 AM

Sounds good, You'll have to change the pins around to match functions that the evo ECU has been wired up to (fuel injectors etc) but it should be do-able I guess.

The AEM's an amazing ECU and the more I dig the more I am surprised at just how much control I have.

how is your driveability and power level now with the Aem?

Leonh 06-18-14 04:16 AM

Not chasing power right now, wanting to get the driveability to be spot on, It's overall good at the moment, I've done a few runs to another country and back. Few hickups at the low rpm cruising and in certain situations on decel the car will buck in the lower rpm range again. will get this all sorted just a case of figuring out what the engine wants

What are your DFCO settings?

EB Turbo

Leonh 06-18-14 03:37 PM

Not sure, Let me see if I've got it on the laptop i'm about 400 mile away from the car this week with work.

Fuel off bellow TPS 0.8%
Fuel off bellow load -7.8PSIg
Fuel off above RPM 2200
Decay 50%

You probably are not getting DFCO to turn on with that low of a throttle position. Raise the Fuel off below TPS to 3 or 4%. You may also want to raise the RPM point to 2500. Usually you want to set the RPM as low as possible without running into idle issues.

I read something about not using DFCO if premixing because the premix won't be lubricating the motor on decel. Is this true?

No fuel, No premix. In a Race car you wont mind not having DFCO off. In a street car you will be annoyed by not having DFCO. You would want to keep the OMP in a street car.

My OMP is long deleted and not coming back. Am I correct in that I should not use DFCO if I am not using the OMP?
I'm guessing it'll make the ride a bit more jerky and a lot more smelly haha.

You can turn the DFCO off. I don't have any sufficient data to show any type of engine with the DFCO off. This will just be personal preference at this point.

Broke the old girl out of mothballs at the weekend (bought a house) and done some more work on the map. Running a lot more smoother and have the O2 Feedback working correctly now and that's speeding up the process of getting the fuel map into order.

Looking up I've still got the DFCO to correct I'll put that on after i've tested these recent changes.

aem v1 on fc3s build project overkill

hi new to the forum well newly registered and desperate to finish a project sometime soon have read loads of threads and researched got almost all my parts to finish up everything needed to get her running and run in  problem is ive read for hours and prob got 5% of the info im after but have seen a lot of knowledgeable people on here whilst reading through.
a lot of the info im seeking is regarding the aem s1 ecu preferred sensors, pointers as new to the software, pinout info, what will and wont work or more what i need to adapt to suit.

i dont usually post on forums and am unsure if i should start a new thread or where on here best to start one just this one seemed relevant containing aem guru's

so basically asking if theres anyone willing to share some info knowledge to bring that light at the end of the tunnel a little closer a lot faster

thanks
