More aem questions

I have heard mixxed feelings about the ecu.. im either going pfc or aem it looks like so im curious.. how does teh ecu work with our older sensors, i ve heard that it doesnt like them ect..

:bsflag: Huh ??? the 10-1800 is made only for the 1993-1995 Rx-7... and reads the sensors just fine... the issue is are the stock sensors "Sensetive enough" to get a tune down to the very last bit of hp you can safely squeeze out... and as far as the OS sensor and possibly the map sensor beyond 14 psi, is concerned no.. but then again, neither were made for this sort of thing...
The AEM works just fine, the trick is to get someone who knows the platform to tune it... :D Maybe ask on the AEM forum who's in Orlando who can tune this thing... My Bet would be Miami or Atlanta.... maybe Jacksonville...

cool, thanks for the help.

Everything seems to be working well for me. I did have to put a spacer behind my CAS to get it closer to 1mm to get a godd reading, though. Aside from that, all is well.

did you get that idea from me on the aempower forum?

Yes I did. I am so glad I found it, to. Had I not seen that on the aem forum, I still would have realized what the problem was, but it just would have taken several months more. I'm really digging the aem forum. There seems to be a whole lot of support on there. I just need to figure out my 1600rpm bucking problem.

Check your decel fuel cut, and also make sure you are turning the secondary injectors on at light load, like 25 percent in the fuel diff map.

P'cola FD 02-27-04 01:37 PM

Yeah the DFCO is fine. I'll take a better look at the fuel diff map. It's wierd though, at like 1654 rpm, it just drops down to 1222 and just bounces up and down until I can get past a certain rpm, and then all is well.

Make sure that your dfco load is set to more vacum than your car makes at that rpm. I.E. dfco load is -8psi, and the car at 1700rpm makes -9psi of vacum, that is bad. Set the dfco load to like -11psi. That is what it sounds like to me. Also check your ambulance screen and make sure you aren't getting timing errors.

Well, to hijack this thread just a little more, I found my problem. The reason it was acting so goofy was that the trigger wheel, was just a little bit bent. It wasn't by much, but it was warped enough to throw off the EMS.

well my aem will be here tuesday, pcola fd... want to come for a install party? ;)
