The AEM has total control over many many things about your engine. It's very hard to get it set up correctly. I still don't have mine setup correctly yet. If you want simple plug and play, go with the PFC. If you want to be in total control of everything, go with the AEM.

I notice there isn't that much people here posting about the AEM. Ive always known about the system but also have heard of the many various problems it has been having. Ive seen first hand just how good the system is on other applications...Hondas, Supras etc... Which has got me thinking about it. Right now im deciding on either the Haltech or Microtech. But if AEM has sorted out the little bugs with the rotary I might also consider getting this system.

It's a great unit for the price and ease of installation. You're going to hear horror stories about every EMS system out there. Any of the unit you listed are only as good as the end user/person tuning it. I have installed and tuned a few 3rd gen RX-7s with the AEM and had great results. It's an awesome piece if you know how to use it. If you need some tuning/work done let me know.

back to the serious side, i got an AEM for my 20b (package deal, didn't know that its was just the 2 rotor plug and play model, i think i need to get one specifically for the 3 rotor from AEM. so i might have one for sale if someone is looking.

Exidous 01-12-05 08:06 AM

it will work fine with the 3 rotor. you just use the 5th and 6th extra injector controllers for the last rotor. also check aems electronic forum under rx-7. there seems to be alot of info on the 20b and the ems in there

thanks for the advice exidous, but i'm still selling it and going with a microtech, its good info to know.
