Idle Control ?
 

For some reason my idle motor doesn't work with the AEM, I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so how did they get it working.

There are quite a few options and parameters to contorl the idle valves with the AEM, its so advanced its almost silly. What car is this, how many wires are on your valve, did you go over everything in the software?

I have a 94 and there are only 2 wires, the only things I have hooked up around there are the TPS, idle air control, and air temp sensor. I just wasn't sure if the wiring has a common ground with something else or something weird like that. I have messed with all the settings and can't get it to respond at all.

If its a 2 wire deal its connected one way, and the settings are through one particular output option. Did you try reversing the polarity?

yup, I tried reversing the polarity, I tore into it and for some reason it's not getting constant, so I think it's in the wiring. Hopefully I'll get it figured out because my car runs like crap till it's warmed up.

Do you know what should be coming out of the computer? I'm not really sure, I think I am supposed to have 12V coming from pin 1B which I don't have. I do have very low voltage coming from pin 4Q that changes with the settings like I think it's supposed to. Anymore help would be really appreciated.

Im not sure, dont quote me, but i think it should be 12V that comes out of there with variations depending on the motor position. You might want to try going over all the compensation maps on there to get it to idle better when cold, that way when you do get it to work the idle will be great.

This is my first time posting in the aem section but pm me for any help! On this matter there is only a couple of factors. 1 is the signal comming out of the aem? if the box is new and your wiring harness isnt a POS then you can assume that the wiring and box are fine. next the Crapy IAC. Which was my problem the iac is a screw type which works its way in or out. if it is a factory IAC you can assume it is. its probably filled with all kinds of good stuff. I took mine out and found that the rubber seal inside of the IAC was stuck causeing my engine to idle @1600. when i changed my duty to the IAC it did nothing because the dirt in the screw had keep the motor from moving. SO you can try to take the IAC off and check it out i used some electrical cleaner and di electric grease to clean and lube it and now my IAC works JUST GREAT!

Thank's for the input guys, I think there's something wrong with my ecu because I can't get anything to come out for constant. My harness and IAC motor are brand new so I don't think either of them is the problem. I'm just gonna rewire the constant and hope for the best.

I guess it was my box, I rewired the constant from the box to 12v swithed and it works great. Thanks for the help.
