Just use one and read the manual. Me + AEM > any class. I'm godlike, almost an art, really. :)

I know, but getting their certification allows me to be a dealer and have bragging rights.

The class will teach you the software basics.
To be a good AEM tuner, you need A LOT OF EXPERIENCE with the AEM EMS, on different cars.

There are many shops that are certified, but cannot tune the cars good :(

I like to think of my self as a good tuner, i've worked with Haltechs for 5 years, sat down with a few electromotives, a motec and a couple other systems, and have worked with OEM engine management systems diagnostics for many different brands of cars for a while now, so im confident i can work great things with the AEM as well.

I always take the time to get all the cars i work on to be driveable and to handle just like or better than stock, with all the power.

So im optimistic about this.

:D

I have an Aem, and a Power FC, having struggeled with the AEM I marvel at the simplicity in tuning a Power FC.... Tuning an AEM Box = Root Canal....

I have the exact opposite sentiments.

Now now, lets not be hasty, we all know that when someone selects an engine management system its based on a few personal desitions, and in the end you buy what you feel you are most comfortable installing. On a personal note y enjoy taking the time and sitting down with an experienced "user" of each system ive worked with and have them explain to me all the pros, cons and quirks of that particular system. I love all systems in general and like to be fluent in all of them

Any system can be dawnting to install/tune if you dont know what you are doing or have no idea where to start.

Actually, the AEM is pretty easy, you just have to be familiar with the software. It is all about teh experience. It definitely is not a ecu that you can learn in 5minutes and tune immediately.

Claudio RX-7 10-19-05 08:30 PM

Definately, that's why im getting training from the expert in the system. :D Seminar is tomorrow, i cant wait.

Well since you're in TX, Onefast7, you must have heard of Justin @ Tuning Concepts, and Steve @ Gotham, both have told me, that AEM = PITA, and I had before that thought , "boy this is pretty complicated", maybe THAT's why those guys get paid top $$ to tune properly...

Then I laid my eyes on FC Tune, and Whoa... Fuel, Ign, and a couple of other tables, and that's IT??? It runs better, Idles WAY better, and uses less gas ?? Where do I sign up...

Given this is AFTER I piad Steve K to tune the AEM, and it ran Okay, and then I paid him again, to come out and tune the PFC, what a difference.... fater tune, better running car... what can I say... I'm uncertain as to weather I'll sell the AEM box, but my relationship with AEM has been less than Peachy, to say the least.... their support is a joke....
