Bought an engine with AEM EMS, how do I wire it up to my Zietronix Wideband?

Where and how do I wire up my Zeitronix wideband to this ecu? The ecu connects straight into my engine harness. Its version 1 EMS. Do i just run my 5v output into the o2 sensor wire that would normally be the narrow band on the stock harness?

Yes, the 0-5V signal from the wideband gets wired to pin 3C, the O2 sensor signal. Make sure the original O2 sensor is disconnected or it will interfere with the wideband's signal. From there, you need to adjust the O2 Sensor #1 Cal Table in the AEMPro software to tell the EMS how to translate the 0-5V signal into Lambda.

By default, the AEMPro software will display AFR in methanol units even though the menu claims it is displaying AFR gasoline. Here's how to fix that: How to change unit reading?

Ok great, thanks for the help, I figured it would wire into the narrow bands slot. Do you know where I can find a pin-out to show me what wire is pin 3c? I assume its the same white wire that was on the original harness

If you go into the AEMPro directory folder there is an "instructions" folder. There you will find the instructions for the 30-1800 ecu. At the bottom of the last page you will find the pinnout for the ecu header.

I have a grounding question. Should the wide band ground use the Ems sensor ground to ensure there is no voltage difference?

EB Turbo 04-02-13 06:27 PM

NO, Do not do that. The wideband needs to be powered and grounded to the same points of the ECU. If you ground the wideband to the sensor ground you will introduce noise to the ecu and you will have issues. You want to power the wideband to pin 1B and you will ground to either 4A, AB or 4C.
