So what is new since the Haltech deal?
Months later, what has changed?
Is there an Adaptronic forum or manual somewhere? Are the published features all working yet? |
Nope.
Shawn is doing a great job with support and backing up things on his end. He's now running a tuning shop away from Turblown. I'm doing my part to help people transition to a reliable setup with custom PnP harnesses and an ECU based on your specific needs. I also do engine calibration full time these days. |
The search function is being used as the manual. There is also a hints section too.
The wide-band modules have been release, and a new PNP( grand national) since the acquisition. I personally no longer own a share in the business either. A new tester is also being made, as the old one was miss passing some tests( which led to to some faulty units). Things are being updated even faster as instead of just one R&D engineering there are now 10. |

Any news? Been 5 months since the last software updates.
|
Nothing that I'm aware of other than a few more people who had to send in dead ECUs for repair...

A very massive update is close to being done software/support wise. I am not at liberty to speak about it unfortunately.

People seem to sht on Adaptronic with the same mentality as piston guys talk about rotaries. I've been having nothing but stellar experience with my Modular. Shawn has been nothing but helpful and patient with me. Yes the old Select units were a different story back in the day but that was years ago and now irrelevant tech. I'm not a tuner so my perspective is from the consumer side of things. I'll also say that Andy Wyatt's clarity in explaining things is also really helpful. It goes to show why a mighty company like Haltech would show interest in Adaptronic.
|
I've been backing them since the start but the lack of updates and communication in the last six months are starting to piss me off.
I recently tried to bring to their attention that there is no CLT trim table available when Manifold Heatsoak % is enabled, and the Post Crank Enrichment table has a limit of 300 seconds, so on a cold day my enrichment runs out before the car is up to full temp... They didn't show any interest in addressing it. I sure hope they consider fixing this in the "latest update", if it ever happens. Wireless communication and arbitrary logic (which we've been promised for years) would be nice too. Sorry for being cynical but it's getting a bit fucked. |

All I was asking was if this big pending update had been completed. There has to be some accountability here...or else there will always be a big pending update...

I'm sure that's all captured in the big super secret mega update that is being hung out there for 2044. Skeese |

That is good for you, but on the other hand nearly everyone I come across with one has had to send it back to Australia on their own money to have it repaired from internal hardware failure.

That is hilarious, I mean not for you...but let me get this right, when you enable a manifold heatsoak setting the coolant trim table disappears? That makes no sense...they aren't tied together in function so it makes no sense to me to delete the coolant fuel trim table based on your choice method of handling air temp trims.

Any idea where we are on this? |
I was told the big update is behind because field testing has been slowed down from the virus unfortunately.

also curious if something will drop out our not. There are unfinished topics and lack of functionalities, no proper documentation, sloppy measurement label naming/units, no working knock control, no correct wall film when using more then one stage etc etc.
|
As expected, Haltech gets the attention while everything Adaptronic gets put out to pasture
I asked the Adaptronic Facebook admin what was going on with the upcoming "big update" and was told: "HI, As of now we are finishing up haltech projects and R&D, since the new ecu was released so it is the priority." Apparently the modular ECU that I bought when IT was "the new Ecu" won't be receiving new features any time soon. Features that were advertised when I bought it, years ago. |
so basically dont buy an adaptronic anymore?
|
I wouldn't
Things were supposed to improve when they joined Haltech, but they only got worse |

Not sure were you are seeing this? It has only gotten better? We just got another software/firmware update - Quality control is on par with Haltech products (they go through the same testing). Other than stock due to covid which is now coming back around its been great!
Cheers, Shawn Chrstenson I haven't seen anything from Mark or Andy in ages, and they seemed like the core of the project |
Hopefully they get back to working on it once the Nexus is released. Wifi and Arbitrary Logic still haven't been released and the Engine Simulator is broken. There are other functions which do work which I feel could be improved upon, but I don't bother asking now as I know what the answer will be. I have my fingers crossed that they will release a big update this year and shut us all up but the situation is a bit frustrating at the moment. If Arbitrary Logic is never released I would call that false advertising.
