at a complete loss
 

ok so i have been having so much trouble with this PNP ecu it was never functioned right i have only been able to move around the shop. now all the car does is idle for a few second then cut off iam at complete loss of where to go now. i have torn down everything smoke tested all the piping rechecked for spark and fuel but nothing works could this ecu be bad :scratch::scratch::scratch::scratch: motor has great compression ecu just dumps fuel like crazy

but funny thing is on some days it will start and ilde for a max of 50 seconds not the usal 30 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if any one has some ttype of clue where i go from here i would great

Looks like it just needs tuning to me... Looks SUPER rich in a lot of areas, and too lean in others...

This is why the t00ner joke has been flying around for the last few years. Just trailer the car over to an Adaptronic tuner who will first check all your wiring (OEM could be damaged, these aren't NEW cars!) and then go through and properly build you a map.

Plug and Play means the connection, not the driving perfectly...use some common sense here.

I have been thru every wire going to the ecu and main harness. testing continuity and resistance. i have given the fuel map more fuel and less fuel just to get it to stay on with no change the only change that will make is if the car will flood out on start up.

one thing that has always bothered me is the tach. I can tell when the car is about to flood out because the tach will jump around if it does that the car will start but if it does not jump around the car will not try to start at all and just flood.

Have you emailed tech your map and some datalogs etc?

Okay, but what about actual setup? Did you follow the procedure outlined by Adaptronic (Andy) on how to calibrate everything BEFORE trying to start the car?

What kind of tuning experience do you have?

Read the Manual, Watch the YouTube channel, or find a competent tuner... Complaining on here without showing any datalogs, maps, or evidence is a waste of everyone's time and won't get you anywhere.

If you've not hooked up the internal map sensor on the ECU, have you told the ECU to use the OEM sensor?

Sounds like the ECU thinks it should be fuelling for 0vac/boost when in reality is should be fuelling for vacuum.

Well after days of trouble shooting with mark from Adaptronic ( awesome guy by the way)
we found the problem the 3 ground pins for the ecu had a 12 volt short only with the key on the a frayed wire in the main harness was shorting to ground.

after that was fixed the car fired right up every time but still would not idle with a 68 fuel trim in the map still had to be bumped up to 150 just to idle car has great pressure and if you pinch the return line it would spike to 75 psi

after more testing i found it to be my fuel filter the summit inline fuel filter was clogging up even after i cleaned it, the tank is pretty clean. but the inline filter has a small disc used to filter that is the problem.

after i sorted all of that out now the car will run with the base map :lol::lol::lol:

I want to thank Mark and the whole Adaptronic team for helping me out on this one. i don't know of other company that with stay on remote link for 4 plus hours trouble shooting your car with you. they really stand by their product, Iam glad i purchased their product.:icon_tup::icon_tup::icon_tup:
