AEM Wideband Connection
Please help me with my wideband connection to Adaptronic. I think I have a 1280 model. I already know that the serial connection is the blue wire from the AEM guage. The white wire is the analog guage. Please tell me the easiest way to wire this up. I have a stereo 2.5mm cable as well. I have cut it to maybe use that for the serial in. I am wanting to get my wideband connected so I can do logs and tune my car a little better.
2.5mm Stereo cable has shielding and a white and red wire coming out of it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. I am having a hard time looking the information up a lot of places are talking about a db9 cable. I take it this is for the older adaptronic 440 ecus maybe. I had my ecu wired by someone but they didn't connect my wideband. I figured I would rather just do it myself. Thanks. |

Besides the convenience, you're not gaining anything over the 0-5V analog. |
Do you remember how this is connected? I know I did connect mine up when I was using the RTEK by tieing it into a wire but I am not sure which one that was.

Thanks for the assist Daniel. So I took a look at their diagram. It seems I can tie it to here. The RTEK was tied into 2F for Var Res like you said. So I just need to move it from 2F to 2E then configure it in the software for tuning I guess right.
2E, Grn / Blu Airflow Signal Ext 0-5V Input Not used by the Adaptronic for tuning, therefore can be used as an external 0-5V input Adaptronic eSel042 Select ECU for RX7 Series 4 FC Turbo |
Sorry guys so a did a search and it does look like 2E is the correct pin. I was curious about the O2 input when I saw that as well and wasn't sure. Thanks again and I will wire this up and take some logs to see where I am at. The sad part it I did pay to have it tuned. It seems rick though to me when I get on it. I will be able to get a log and make some changes to get it to where it needs to be.
I was almost thinking it could be this wire as well. Thanks again for the help. 2D, Grey Oxygen Sensor Signal O2 Input |
I'm a little late to this party, I am using an AEM Wideband gauge connected to my e420D over the serial in port. The serial data wire connects to the center contact of the 2.5mm plug, which I am 80% sure is the red wire, then you have to connect the shielding to ground, which is the connector furthest away from the tip. Once you do that, there is a setting for serial in to use the AEM UEGO.

Good information befarrer. I am connected to the 2E at the moment because I wasn't sure about the serial connetion. What setting do you use on the Adaptronic as far as selecting the correct wideband? If you remember that is. When I selected the AEM 0-5 v option it was way rich reading compared to the gauge. Meaning the AEM gauge would read 14.5 and in the adaptronic it was showing 10ish. This threw me off when I first started messing with it. Then I figured out the discrepancy I was having and decided to try another option. I found one that pretty close to what the gauge is putting out. I did notice there are a few options in the adaptronic that have AEM in the options. Now I just need to fine tune a little more here and there, but I am getting it pretty close.

In WARI, under the Special Functions tab, under Secondary Serial In Port, I have selected AEM UEGO. It reads identical to what my gauge reads on WARI. I am using an E420D.
If using Eugene, under the Inputs Tab, select Serial Data, select AEM UEGO under serial in. |
