Yellow HID Headlight conversion

I wanted to share my HID Headkight up grade conversion with you guyx to see what you think ..
I bought some Yellow Headlight housings..
Problem is they didnt have the mount points for the adjuestment screws to hold the ballasts in place so I had to modify them ..
I started with cutting the ones off the stock headlight housings ..
I used Epoxy & dura glass to hold the brackets in place made it work ..
They look like the fog/running lights on The Benz ..
Its very Very unique & Ive never seen abyone do it ..
When i bought the housings they were just square lights, they had no mount points for the adjustment screws, so I had to do a bit of fabrication to make it work.
I cut the old brackets off my oll lights, epoxied them & dura-glassed then on, (Permanant fix) they turned out perfect & I think they look bad ass. They might be ilegal, but I dont care Im willing to take my chance because these lights will Deff stand out in the FD crownd ..
This is waat they looked like when I stated & when I finished them ..

When I got them they looked like this ..

the reason they don't have mounts for the screws is they are not for a FD these lights are for a FC or almost any car from the late 70's to early 90's . if you want HID lighting look into sakebomb garage's hid conversions

First off, how is this HID? It's a halogen headlight. If you are putting an h4 HID kit in, then you will be blinding other drivers REALLY BAD with this super yellow light, and your road vision is going to be really bad because the yellow lens is going to significantly decrease light output (not to mention that it sounds like youll be using a reflector HID which will already throw light all over the place and not where you want it). Read the green section "HID 101" in the 1st post in this thread -> https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=867943 to learn more about what you are attempting to do.

If I were to run yellow lights I would do one of two things. First use an FD housing, cause when you go to aim it those tabs will break off (plus I dont see the spring retainer... w/out it your lights are going to be vibrating/bouncing all over the place as nothing is holding it down). And in addition use a proper HID projector headlight to start so you have good visibility, and then:

either spray clear yellow tint on the inside (or outside, or both) of the lens to give you the yellow look you are after

OR

Keep the lens clear and get a d2s yellow HID BULB (the lens would look clear but the light itself would be yellow).

Personally I think the color of the lenses only look good depending on the color of the car. I think some NSX's and Bimmers get the yellow covers and it looks good w/ the right color combo.
