Yearly filter, spark plug change.

ok so this is the first year i am changing my stuff since I put 600 miles on her. I am looking for sites that carry items since i live in the middle of V8 country and no one carries rotary stuff. I am looking for a fuel filter, spark plug, as well as oil for the gas tank. I am going to start putting half ounce oil per gallon this year and looking for itamitsu oil (or how ever you spell it) also I am looking for the retro fuse for the headlights. i looked at rotary bum.com for the handy little kit they have for oil.

Looking for preferences thanks.

good to hear there is such a site as rotarybum.com (never heard of it before). The idemitsu premix/oil I've been ordering from mazdatrix.
And for my OEM part needs I drop an email to Ray at Crowe.Ray@aol.com

You can also use the Quicksilver premix commonly used in marine applications. Their higher end product is good and, iirc, Walmart stocks it.

If you're using NGK plugs, they're available at any chain parts store.

I often get spark plugs from EBAY.
I buy in bulk(like whatever they sell..8 to a box) and even though I live in Canada the price is still cheaper than Parts stores.

Dang Styx, how often do you have to change plugs?

MazdaAspec 02-17-17 03:41 PM

I will look into these places then and Sgtblue I check and change mine after each road course event or every 6 autox events.

on a side note since I am starting to add oil into the fuel tank does this require a new tune?

No.

I am not affiliated with them, but RockAuto.com has the best prices I've seen on the NGK plugs.

No real need to change plugs at short intervals, but if it makes ya feel good...go ahead.

I usually just get spark plugs and wires from forum vendor RX7.com. Good pricing, great service, no worries about getting wrong parts. Sometimes I order them from the local auto parts store.

I get the fuel filter (and oil) locally (Wix) or order from Ray Crowe or RX7.com if I'm getting other parts.

600 miles is way to early to change plugs though.

I don't run bur9 plugs on the lower. After Steven Kan and Brian got done tuning it the gave me helpful hints to maintain it and she is really only used for autox and road course. they said to at least check them after each session on the track and about every 3 or 4 autox events. I have no problem changing these out for my true love to keep running;) still wish I could get a hold of brian that use to work at PRT tho. I am looking into these areas you all have suggested and will be making purchases here within the week.
