y-pipe leaking

I just noticed that my Y-pipe is leaking oil. its the lower portion that appears to be conneted to the ex. manifold where i can see the oil. is oil coming out of the y-pipe a usual thing. there is a bit there, but that seems to be from the leak. i just dont think it was clamped right, but i have heard of the y-pipe cracking. i cant spring for the efini pipe right now, but maybe later. can someone tell me about the pipe. is it normal for the oil to be inside the pipe. its not a lot, but just a "mist"
thanks
kris

It's normal to have a little oil in your pipes, including the cross over pipe you speak of. But if you see oil leaking externally, there is a leak. I would check the weak rubber couplers and replace them with silicone ones, which can be found at bakerprecision.com or anywhere else.

Exactly, some oil should be in the pipes, if it is on the exterior you have a leak. If you don't have a boost leak it maybe something else leaking oil.

okay, i was looking around online and i saw that its considered the top of the y pipe. this link has a nice pic. its the bottom of the crossover tube that is leaking. where the crossover tube meets the y pipe. with that said, related to my original post, what do you think.

Either replace the coupler or tighten the hose clamps.

that is what i am going to do tomorrow first thing in the morning. im going to switch over to the screw down clamps and not the stock type clamps.
